Stay in a wing of this gorgeous ‘Cottage Ornee’ style house, which boasts several acres of garden and lawns. Ideally situated for exploring the island or escaping from it all.

Studded on the southern tip of the Isle of Wight is this enchanting haven that’s ideal for experiencing the beautiful coastline of the Isle of Wight. Sleeping couples and small families of up to four guests, it is a cosy retreat for curling up after a busy day or exploring the shared grounds, carefully supervising young children by the ponds. The village of Niton Undercliff is an excellent vantage point for discovering Ventnor, a seaside resort just 5 miles away. Surrounded by acres of grounds, your abode is the private wing of a grand historic house and has the added bonus of its own pretty courtyard with seating for al fresco drinks. Inside, the large rooms have been finished in soft, neutral tones complete with attractive furniture and accessories in keeping with the property’s character. Snuggle up on the sofas to watch TV by the ornate fireplace or perch in the kitchen/diner with a hot drink. This compact yet brilliantly equipped space has everything you need to cook dinner. Two comfortable bedrooms can be found upstairs along with a delightful bathroom. Whether you are tempted by days on the beach or exhilarating walks along the cliff tops, you’ll be spoilt for choice of how to fill your itinerary. Castle Haven is a tiny cove with a harbour and cafe by the beach 1 mile away. Ventnor has an abundance of pubs, restaurants and cafes throughout its sloping streets and a promenade to peruse. This location also boasts its own microclimate so you may even spot miniature lizards darting about near the seafront. The coast path stretches all the way to The Needles if you fancy breaking down the 17-mile walk into manageable chunks.

This property is ideal for a stay on the Isle of Wight. It has all the charm of a period property but with modern touches. A particular nice touch was the availability of Netflix on the t.v. The grounds are enormous and worth exploring. The property is an excellent base for exploring the southern section of the island by foot although the coastpathRead more to Ventnor is still partly closed due to a landslip many years ago. We had a very enjoyable week at The Wing of Puckaster House. It was a fascinating cottage, well equipped and tastefully furnished in keeping with the period of the House. The gardens were extensive and a real joy to explore. A very peaceful place!

The cottage is located at a beautiful quiet location, the gardens and views are excellent. Great place to chillout, pub with good food 10 mins walk and a great base to see the island. On the negative side the lounge furniture in the lounge needs replacing.

What a wonderful time we had . This cottage is perfectly located to explore the Island. Very quiet and peaceful but a short walk to a pub and amazing walks like St Catherines Lighthouse. The gardens were wonderful also . Spotlessly clean too.

Property is wing of large Victorian house. Large rooms, a little gloomy and no 'glimpses of the sea' from the bedrooms. However, clean and comfortable, and house has wonderful garden to potter around. Village is pretty and quiet. Recommend the beach caf for meals as well as the Buddle Inn.

Historic house in convenient setting for exploring the magical Back of the Wight set in a beautiful garden. Property is comfortable and clean - but has limited views which is a pity given the beauty of the area. Would recommend this as a handy base for walkers and cyclists but not so much for a chilling relaxing break.
