This large, traditional cottage is situated on the estate of Leeson, on the outskirts of the hilltop village of Langton Matravers in the Isle of Purbeck. It enjoys spectacular open views from the sitting room, master bedroom and garden across fields to Swanage Bay. The village of Langton Matravers is home to a beautiful church, village shop, public house and small animal adventure farm. It is in a wonderful walking area with footpaths and bridleways from close to the cottage leading to the Purbeck Downs and the nearby Jurassic Coastline - a dramatic and unspoilt Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; with World Heritage status for its small bays, rugged cliffs, fossils and birdlife. The small resort of Swanage with its sandy beach, boating, diving and variety of restaurants and public houses, is within few minutes drive. The four miles of golden beach at Studland is within a ten to fifteen minute drive, as is Studland Golf course and the RSPB bird reserve at Arne.
The Coach House Leeson dates back over 200 years. It has recently been renovated to provide attractive accommodation for eight people in four bedrooms with four bath/shower rooms. The cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard and is centrally heated. The front doors open into a spacious hallway with an original Purbeck stone floor. Double doors open from here into a spacious sitting room - a lovely light room with windows to the front and rear of the property. It is furnished with sofas, arm chairs, a wood-burning stove, and Smart television with a DVD player and Freeview. Additional double doors open from the central hallway into the west wing of the property. Here, there is a large open plan kitchen equipped with quartz work top, a double electric oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, wine cooler and central island with breakfast bar; a second sitting room area with sofas in front of another wood burning stove; a separate dining room for more formal meals with a door opening into the rear courtyard. Also on the ground floor is a utility room with a washing machine, basin and WC; plus a lovely double bedroom with an en-suite shower room with a built in shower, basin and WC.
Stairs lead up from the west wing to two bedrooms - one double room with a television, an ensuite shower room with built in shower basin and WC; a twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a bath, WC and basin. One of these bedrooms does not have any hanging space but has ample storage in the chest of drawers. A second staircase leads up from the central hallway to a spacious double bedroom with a king-size bed, a television and views across fields to Swanage Bay; a dressing area and a bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and WC. An inflatable bed can be provided in one of the double bedrooms to enable two children to sleep separately. Central heating and WiFi internet are provided without extra charge.
The Coach house has a large garden with a courtyard style paved garden at the rear; a large open driveway at the front of the property with plenty of parking for four or more cars; a secluded lawned area with garden furniture so that visitors can relax and enjoy meals in the sunshine and children can play games. The garden is gated and fenced.
Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
