Charming clock tower, part of converted stable block, sleeping two adult guests in a delightful two-storey cottage in the pretty seaside town of Ventnor, a short walk from the popular sandy beach.

This attractive property overlooks the gardens of Ventnor Park and boasts glimpses of the sea from the sitting room. It is within a ten-minute walk of the beach at Ventnor and also of the town centre. This is a spectacular coastal area, and a pleasant walk through the gardens leads to the small esplanade of Ventnor, a quaint seaside resort. The quiet bay is ideal for swimming and paddling. Visitors can also walk directly from the property to join the coastal path, and the walk westwards quickly leads to the nearby Ventnor Botanical Garden and the picture-postcard coastal village of Steep Hill Cove. The Clock Tower is part of the original stables of Steephill Castle. It has an ancient stone structure which has been carefully renovated into five very individual small cottages.

As the name suggests this property occupies the central upper tower and enjoys panoramic views across Ventnor Park gardens with the sea beyond. An external staircase leads up to a small balcony and the entrance to The Clock Tower which is completely self contained. The property has been furnished and equipped with care to provide comfortable accommodation for two people. The double doors at the entrance open directly into a large open plan sitting room with a Chesterfield sofa, arm chair, television with Freeview, Smart TV and DVD player, plus a wood burning stove. There is a welcoming dining area and a country style kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave and refrigerator with small freezer section. A 24 hour laundry service is also available.

There is a separate bedroom with a double bed and fitted wardrobe, plus a shower room with a walk in shower, basin and W.C. The property is centrally heated and electricity and heating is at no extra charge. A wooden staircase leads up to a mezzanine in the upper part of the tower, however visitors should not access this area for safety reasons as there are low balustrades. BT Infinity WiFi connection is at no extra charge. The Clock Tower has a small, sunny balcony area and its own courtyard style garden at ground level with a table and chairs for enjoying meals outside. Visitors can stop to unload their car close to the external staircase leading up to the property, and longer term parking is available in the private open courtyard at the front of the properties - only a one-minute walk away. There is a regular bus service within two minutes walk. This links with Shanklin railway station for Ryde ferry and trains to London.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Unusual accommodation in a converted Victorian building with lovely views. The clock tower is perfectly situated for Ventnor and all the nearby attractions, and also as a base to explore the rest of the island. Mrs and Mrs Curzon were very helpful and sociable.
