Wonderful walks, spectacular countryside and two pubs within a short walk, this commanding cottage is perfectly placed for up to nine guests to unwind in the charming village of Langton Matravers.

The Bakery Cottage is a lovely stone property which stands in the centre of the charming village of Langton Matravers, amidst beautiful Purbeck countryside and within a few minutes drive of the sandy beach of Swanage. The village is fortunate to have a shop and public house. It is also a wonderful walking area with footpaths and bridleways leading directly from the village to the nearby coast at Dancing Ledges, and joining the coastal path which can be followed to Swanage or westwards to the attractive coastal villages of Worth Matravers and Kimmeridge. At Swanage, visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing and diving, as well as the traditional entertainments of Punch and Judy and pedaloes. The steam railway is a wonderful feature of the town and links the resort with the nearby village of Corfe Castle.

The cottage provides spacious, comfortable accommodation for eight to nine guests in four bedrooms. Traditional features such as beams and a wonderful stone fire place have been retained. On the ground floor there is a large sitting room extending across the width of the cottage, with a number of windows and a door opening onto a stone terrace. This room is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs, a television with Freeview and DVD player, and a gas effect wood burning stove which provides a lovely central focus in colder weather. There is a separate dining room with French doors opening outside and a fitted kitchen with an electric oven and grill, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and washer dryer. Stairs lead up to three attractive bedrooms; two double rooms and one twin room, plus a tiled bathroom with a bath, basin and W.C. and a separate tiled shower room with a built in shower, basin and WC.

A further flight of stairs leads up to a large double bedroom which extends across most of the width of the property (a single bed is also available so that the room can be used as a twin/triple). This bedroom has an en-suite tiled shower room with a built in shower, basin and WC. Central heating and electricity are without extra charge. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. The cottage has an enclosed courtyard style garden at the rear of the property with garden furniture and a barbecue so that meals can be enjoyed outside. There is also an attractive small terrace at the front of cottage with stone seats. It is possible to park 1 car behind the cottage and others cars can be parked in the village road in front of the cottage. There is a regular bus service within two minutes walk. Nearby places to visit include Corfe Castle, the Swanage Steam Railway, boats on the river at Wareham, Monkey World and The Tank Museum.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Really well situated with easy access to many towns. Close to the coast with plenty of walks nearby. Very comfortable and plenty of space for all our guests (five adults and two dogs). The men loved the pub directly across the road!

Cosy yet spacious. Good location in a nice village with easy access to walks both along the coast and inland from the cottage. Good traditional pub just 50m away. Good sized and fenced off rear patio area - dog proof. Single off road parking space a bit awkward for large cars.

Owners very welcoming and village very friendly, with useful village store and great pub. Brilliant for walkers as it was so easy to pick up footpaths from The Bakery and plenteous hot water for showers on return. Handy safe, little sheltered area out back for children or eating outside.

Ideal accommodation in an ideal and lovely location. Couldn't fault it. Very roomy and paved garden gets plenty of sun. Quirky pub opposite cottage which did good pub food and dog friendly. Also only a 5 or so walk to fields to walk dog. Definitely recommend.
