Seaview Cottage enjoys open views across rolling countryside to the sea. It is attractively situated in the lovely village of Worth Matravers in the Isle of Purbeck, and the sea at Winspit is within a 15-minute walk. This area of coastline is part of the renowned Jurassic Coast and a World Heritage Site. It is a superb walking and cycling area, with footpaths and trails connecting with the coast path and various bridleways across the downs almost from the cottage door. The centre of the village of Worth Matravers is within a few minutes walk of the cottage and here, there is a pretty village green with duck pond, a tea shop/ supper room which is good for meals, plus the Square and Compass, a public house renowned for its local ciders and wonderful views. The historic village of Corfe Castle is within a five-minute drive, as is the seaside resort of Swanage. Here, the sandy beach slopes gently into the water and it is ideal for swimming and paddling. Visitors can also enjoy Punch and Judy, a stroll along the Victorian pier, boat trips, fishing, diving and a ride on a steam train.
Seaview is a Purbeck stone semi-detached cottage which has recently been renovated to provide attractive accommodation of a high standard for seven to eight people in four bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a kitchen with fitted units, hard wood work tops, electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine; a dining room with patio doors which open on to the terrace with views across the garden to the sea; a large open-plan sitting room with bi-fold glass doors along one entire wall which fold back to make the outside terrace feel like part of the room. The sitting room is furnished with comfortable sofas, arm chairs, large flat screen television/Freesat/Blu-ray DVD player, plus a wood burning stove which provides a central focus for the room in colder weather. Also on the ground floor, is a tiled wet room with under floor heating, electric Mira shower, WC and basin, plus a charming single bedroom.
Stairs lead up to a further three bedrooms; a master bedroom with a king-size double bed, fitted wardrobe and attractive Victorian feature fireplace; a smaller double room with a king-size bed and a wardrobe, plus a twin room. There is also a tiled bathroom with bath, hand shower, separate built in shower and basin, plus a separate cloakroom with WC. A cot and high chair or folding bed for a child can be provided at an additional cost. Electric heating is without extra charge and WiFi internet can be made available. Please note that only up to four children are allowed.
There is a large south facing garden which has the sun for most of the day. Visitors can relax on the terrace whilst enjoying the open views of the beautiful countryside and watch the small boats as they pass by in the distance. There is a lawn surrounded by attractive shrubberies and pretty rock gardens. This garden is gated and fenced and garden furniture is provided. At the front of the cottage there is a further area of lawn with flower beds and a drive where two cars can be parked.
