Seaview Cottage enjoys open views across rolling countryside to the sea. It is attractively situated in the lovely village of Worth Matravers in the Isle of Purbeck, and the sea at Winspit is within a 15-minute walk. This area of coastline is part of the renowned Jurassic Coast and a World Heritage Site. It is a superb walking and cycling area, with footpaths and trails connecting with the coast path and various bridleways across the downs almost from the cottage door. The centre of the village of Worth Matravers is within a few minutes walk of the cottage and here, there is a pretty village green with duck pond, a tea shop/ supper room which is good for meals, plus the Square and Compass, a public house renowned for its local ciders and wonderful views. The historic village of Corfe Castle is within a five-minute drive, as is the seaside resort of Swanage. Here, the sandy beach slopes gently into the water and it is ideal for swimming and paddling. Visitors can also enjoy Punch and Judy, a stroll along the Victorian pier, boat trips, fishing, diving and a ride on a steam train.

On the ground floor there is a kitchen with fitted units, hard wood work tops, electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine; a dining room with patio doors which open on to the terrace with views across the garden to the sea; a large open-plan sitting room with bi-fold glass doors along one entire wall which fold back to make the outside terrace feel like part of the room. The sitting room is furnished with comfortable sofas, arm chairs, large flat screen television/Freesat/Blu-ray DVD player, plus a wood burning stove which provides a central focus for the room in colder weather. Also on the ground floor, is a tiled wet room with under floor heating, electric Mira shower, WC and basin, plus a charming single bedroom.

Stairs lead up to a further three bedrooms; a master bedroom with a king-size double bed, fitted wardrobe and attractive Victorian feature fireplace; a smaller double room with a king-size bed and a wardrobe, plus a twin room. There is also a tiled bathroom with bath, hand shower, separate built in shower and basin, plus a separate cloakroom with WC. A cot and high chair or folding bed for a child can be provided. Electric heating is without extra charge and WiFi internet can be made available. Please note that only up to four children are allowed.

There is a large south facing garden which has the sun for most of the day. Visitors can relax on the terrace whilst enjoying the open views of the beautiful countryside and watch the small boats as they pass by in the distance. There is a lawn surrounded by attractive shrubberies and pretty rock gardens. This garden is gated and fenced and garden furniture is provided. This was a lovely property and close to a number of attractions, quite a few National Trust ones too which is a bonus if you are a member. The property was very clean, spacious and well equipped.

Cottage was lovely, had everything. However we had a lot of rain and it is very isolated. We decided to have a lazy day but there is limited internet and due to the winds we lost tv signal. This is no reflection on the property itself and the area is beautiful. Wonderful walks when sunny and dry. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of room

It was fantastic. Suited our group perfectly. Three generations, a niece and a foster daughter. The weather was pretty good to us too and it was lovely to re-visit favourite places such as 'The Blue Pool' and 'Corfe Castle' and to see the fabulous work being done at Monkey World. I was also so impressed that the baker is still making the amazing FlRead moreorentine's in Swanage. Worth going into town just to get one of those-yum yum. Hide

This cottage was very comfortable and has a lovely garden with a great view of the sea. It was spotlessly clean and we were provided with lots of little extras (washing up products and cloths, toilet paper, milk etc) which was helpful. The owners also made us feel very welcome with tea and cake laid out for us when we arrived. The only down side waRead mores the noise from the pub down the road in the evenings at weekends and the building work next door - it rather spoilt an otherwise tranquil spot. Hide

We loved the house and everything about it. Perfect for walking and the best pub ever in the village 2 mins walk. Brilliantly equipped and didn't need for anything. Even had a home made scrumptious apple cake ready for our arrival.

This cottage is well placed for trips to Corfe, Swanage and has easy access to the South West Coastal Path. The village is very small and only has a pub serving pies so if you want proper pub meals you need to go further afield. The local tea shop was closed when we visited as we were out of season.
