A charming stone cottage with a lovely view across fields to the sea from its tranquil garden, situated in the delightful Purbeck village of Worth Matravers – a wonderful walking and cycling area.

Seaview Cottage enjoys open views across rolling countryside to the sea. It is attractively situated in the lovely village of Worth Matravers in the Isle of Purbeck, and the sea at Winspit is within a 15-minute walk. This area of coastline is part of the renowned Jurassic Coast and a World Heritage Site. It is a superb walking and cycling area, with footpaths and trails connecting with the coast path and various bridleways across the downs almost from the cottage door. The centre of the village of Worth Matravers is within a few minutes walk of the cottage and here, there is a pretty village green with duck pond, a tea shop/ supper room which is good for meals, plus the Square and Compass, a public house renowned for its local ciders and wonderful views. The historic village of Corfe Castle is within a five-minute drive, as is the seaside resort of Swanage. Here, the sandy beach slopes gently into the water and it is ideal for swimming and paddling. Visitors can also enjoy Punch and Judy, a stroll along the Victorian pier, boat trips, fishing, diving and a ride on a steam train.

Seaview is a Purbeck stone semi-detached cottage which has recently been renovated to provide attractive accommodation of a high standard for seven to eight people in four bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a kitchen with fitted units, hard wood work tops, electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine; a dining room with patio doors which open on to the terrace with views across the garden to the sea; a large open-plan sitting room with bi-fold glass doors along one entire wall which fold back to make the outside terrace feel like part of the room. The sitting room is furnished with comfortable sofas, arm chairs, large flat screen television/Freesat/Blu-ray DVD player, plus a wood burning stove which provides a central focus for the room in colder weather. Also on the ground floor, is a tiled wet room with under floor heating, electric Mira shower, WC and basin, plus a charming single bedroom.

Stairs lead up to a further three bedrooms; a master bedroom with a king-size double bed, fitted wardrobe and attractive Victorian feature fireplace; a smaller double room with a king-size bed and a wardrobe, plus a twin room. There is also a tiled bathroom with bath, hand shower, separate built in shower and basin, plus a separate cloakroom with WC. A cot and high chair or folding bed for a child can be provided at an additional cost. Electric heating is without extra charge and WiFi internet can be made available. Please note that only up to four children are allowed.

There is a large south facing garden which has the sun for most of the day. Visitors can relax on the terrace whilst enjoying the open views of the beautiful countryside and watch the small boats as they pass by in the distance. There is a lawn surrounded by attractive shrubberies and pretty rock gardens. This garden is gated and fenced and garden furniture is provided. At the front of the cottage there is a further area of lawn with flower beds and a drive where two cars can be parked.

This accommodation was lovely for the extended family. Views were lovely and we were able to eat all our meals in the garden as the weather was so good. The table outside was easily large enough for a family of eight.

We had a nice time,lovely location.Property itself has been renovated/decorated to a good standard,and was v clean,but furniture is dated,some rooms feel v cluttered.Garden chairs and table VERY wobbly.No sun umbrella - which is shown in pics.Should be made clearer that the single bedroom is downstairs directly off living room.We missed this info.,Read moreour mistake, but dodgy with small child and window open at night for example.We had to bring child upstairs to share with adult.Best for small family. Excellent cottage, well equipped, it really suited our 4 generation family holiday. Directions for finding and getting into the cottage were clear, instructions for all the equipment and places to go were excellent. The kitchen had everything we needed and plenty of extras so we didnt have to wash up after every snack or drink. Comfortable cottage in good position, lovely open views from back garden. Well positioned for Swanage, and surrounded by lovely countryside. Very clean and some upgrades have been made to the furniture and garden which have made the cottage even better. There was enough equipment in the Kitchen, although the tap was dripping badly. An excellent holiday let in a perfect location. The garden was well used by our grandsons for football and cricket. The kitchen was very well equipped for self catering. The shower roses need replacing but apart from that we had a fabulous week.

We had a wonderful week at this holiday cottage. It was clean, spacious, warm, with very comfortable beds. The views were spectacular and there were several lovely walks from the door. I would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful holiday home.

Very comfortable, great location with fabulous coastal path walks from the house and the Square and Compass pub 2 minutes walk away. Helpful owners who responded quickly to any requests queries etc. Lovely welcome biscuits, a basketful of logs and a lovely Christmas tree. The cottage is situated in a lovely location with fabulous views. It is well equipped and a real home from home . It is within walking distance to the coast which suited us as we wanted to walk part of the coast path without having to get the car out . There are also plenty of places for days out within a short drive , we enjoyed a trip to Swanage Read more, Corffe Castle and Studland Bay and we also visited the abandoned historical village of Tyneham Hide

My family and I really enjoyed our stay to celebrate my parents 40th Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The view from the house/garden looking across the fields down to the sea is amazing. The house is very clean, comfortable and well laid out. It is only a 10 minute drive to both Corfe Castle and Swanage, with Lulworth Castle, Lulworth Cove, the tank museuRead morem and Durdle Door also close by. Superb spacious accommodation in ideal location. Coped with three generations admirably. Clean and tidy, (thanks Mary) and everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Great for discovering Isle of Purbeck, kids loved the beaches, fossil hunting, steam train, coastal walks etc etc. Wouldn't hesitate to revisit.

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage. The views are stunning, close access to the coast paths. Returning from our walks for a well earned drink and pastie at the Square and Compass. My husband son and I enjoyed a lovely week, we will be returning. Dorothy, Eddy and Jeff .

This is a lovely cottage in a very peaceful location, with gorgeous views of the sea. It is furnished very nicely, with a well equipped kitchen. The garden is large and great for garden games and outdoor dining. It's a very short walk to a footpath that leads down to the coast path, and just a couple of miles walk to Dancing Ledge. The property was well maintained and is very comfortable with great kitchen appliances. The sea views and the garden are top notch and is great to wake up to. Its a very quiet location and is only around the corner from Swanage and Corfe Castle. A few minor issues with the shower heads but other than that, pretty faultless !

Cottage was very clean, welcoming, and comfortable, with a lovely garden and good parking. Situated on the edge of a pretty village in a beautiful location, it was very peaceful. Always enjoy staying in this area for years, beautiful scenery. The cottage was very tidy, to a high specification with a nice secluded garden with views of the sea. An easy stroll to the local inn with a brilliant vista. The area is quiet with numerous walks listed. Lots of eating venues within a 5 mile radius. Can't wait to return.
