Situated in a tranquil lane close to a beautiful sandy beach, this lovely, bright and airy cottage makes a wonderful holiday home for a family looking to enjoy this glorious and picturesque area.

Sea Whistle is only a five-minute walk from the sandy beach of Appley, in the seaside resort of Ryde on the north east coast of the Isle of Wight. This attractive property stands along a quiet lane just outside of the town centre, and is within easy reach of a variety of shops, eateries and bars. Ryde has an award-winning beach with the largest stretch of golden sands on the Isle of Wight, making it perfect for beach sports and activities, as well as paddling, making sand castles and relaxing in a deck chair. Attractions include ten pin bowling, traditional amusements and a cinema, plus a lido area with swimming pool and boating lake.

This detached property is bright and airy throughout and has recently been fully refurbished to provide comfortable accommodation for six people across four bedrooms. Local artwork and striking mirrors hang through the property giving Sea Whistle a calm and welcoming feel. Steps from the driveway lead up to the front porch where there is washing machine and room to store boots, beach toys and outdoor clothes. The ground level has wooden floors laid throughout with the porch opening into a large hall and open-plan kitchen equipped with a freestanding fridge freezer and a pretty French dresser, attractive kitchen units with wooden work tops, a butler sink and microwave. There is also a gas fired AGA which comprises an electric double oven, grill and hob. An attractive dining area overlooks the garden with French doors opening on to the terrace. There is an inviting lounge which has a large leather arm chair and footstool, as well as an L-shaped leather sofa. The focal point of the room is the wood burning stove and mantel above it which has been made of wood from the original Ryde Pier. A television with a Sky Movies and Entertainment package is also provided, along with books and games for guests to enjoy. There is also a cloakroom with WC and basin, as well as a lovely ground floor double bedroom decorated to a nautical theme, with a wardrobe and chest of drawers.

An open tread wooden staircase leads up to a carpeted landing and three further bedrooms. The master bedroom is flooded with light through the front and rear facing windows. This room comprises a king-sized bed with wardrobe and chest of drawers, along with a TV with Sky. There is a twin room overlooking the garden with a chest of drawers and hanging space. The fourth bedroom is a single with chest of drawers, wardrobe and views of the garden. The cottage boasts an exceptionally spacious family bathroom with a freestanding bath and hand held shower, walk-in shower cubicle, WC, heated towel rail and basin. WiFi is provided without charge, and a travel cot and high chair are available on request. Electricity and central heating are provided without extra charge at the property up to a temperature of 22 degrees. If higher temperatures are required, additional heating charges apply at cost price.

Sea Whistle has an enclosed south facing garden which can be accessed via French doors from the kitchen. There is an extensive decking area with a wooden swing, as well as an outdoor dining table and six chairs where meals can be enjoyed al fresco. Please note that the decking area is not fenced and has steps down to the lawn, so care must be taken here. The rest of the garden is laid to lawn with attractive borders giving plenty of space for children to play. There is also a small covered pond that is home to newts and frogs. Guests are welcome to enjoy pond dipping here as long as the wildlife is returned afterwards. There is a gravel driveway where two cars can be parked and a bus stop within a one-minute walk of the property, connecting to island wide routes. Hovercraft and Fast Cat services also link Ryde with the mainland. A weekly tennis membership at Ryde Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club is available, enabling guests use of the tennis and croquet facilities and access to the coaching program if required. Beautifully presented home in excellent position near the beach. Thoughtful welcome tray was much appreciated particularly after a wet walk - the kitchen's aga was great for drying all the wet clothes! The children loved playing the Isle of Wight Monopoly. Perfect stay for our family of 6.
