Situated in the narrow, stone streets of old Swanage, with only a short walk taking you down to the sandy beach, this fisherman’s cottage makes an excellent family base.

Providence Cottage is less than a one minute walk from the sea, and is attractively located in the narrow streets of old Swanage - a small coastal resort. This is a traditionally built, stone Purbeck property, Grade II listed, and was originally a Fisherman's cottage. Within a five-minute walk visitors can enjoy almost all the amenities Swanage has to offer, with its attractive Victorian pier, its sandy beach which is ideal for paddling, swimming and boating, its seaside entertainment, plus a variety of boutique style shops, wine bars, public houses and restaurants. There is also easy access to the Steam Railway which links Swanage with the historic village of Corfe Castle, plus bus services to the Purbeck villages, Corfe Castle, Wareham, Poole and Bournemouth. Visitors may also appreciate having a private parking space next to the cottage in the centre of Swanage.

This lovely stone cottage offers attractive and comfortable accommodation on three floors for six people in three bedrooms. It is centrally heated and has been furnished to a high standard. On the ground floor there is: a sitting room with comfortable sofas and an armchair, Smart TV with Blu-ray and DVD player, an open fire; an open plan dining room; a shower room with a large walk in shower, basin and WC; a utility area with a washing machine and freezer; a galley style, bespoke fitted kitchen equipped with wooden units, oak work tops, a gas hob, electric cooker, integrated microwave, refrigerator with ice box and dishwasher. (The kitchen has a single narrow point at the entrance of 19 inches).

Stairs lead up to the first floor where there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom with basin, and family shower room with a large walk in shower, basin and WC. A further flight of stairs leads to another bedroom with a king-size bed and views across rooftops of the sea, with the Isle of Wight clearly visible in the distance. A folding bed can be added into this room (at an additional cost), and a travel cot and high chair may be provided. Central heating, electricity and WiFi internet connected at no extra charge.

Providence Cottage has a walled and gated courtyard with garden furniture provided so that meals can be enjoyed outside in the sunshine. There is a raised area within the courtyard with parking space for one car up to a height of 6ft. (Children do need to be closely supervised in the courtyard as there is an unfenced drop between the parking area and garden).

Lovely cosy cottage in an ideal location, short walking distance to shops, beach & pubs/restaurants. All equipment in house you could need with a parking space which an added bonus these days. Would definitely return

Gorgeous and sympathetically decorated cottage in excellent location close to shops and the beach. A bit tricky for parking as we had two cars but with a bit of concentration it was possible to find a spot on Park Road nearby.

Position is excellent, car parking very handy, cottage is nice and warm, it's difficult to get large suitcases up and down the narrow stairs, so take two small ones. Top floor could be difficult to those with disability.
