Surrounded by fields of cows and sheep, this charming cottage has been tastefully decorated inside to compliment its many original features.

This pretty thatched cottage is beautifully situated on a 400 acre farm in rolling Purbeck countryside. The farm is home to cows, sheep, free range chickens and ducks on the duck pond. The cottage enjoys a delightful location, well away from busy roads and surrounded by gardens and fields. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area and visitors are welcome to explore the farm and join footpaths leading to the nearby River Frome. Purbeck is renowned for its Jurassic coastline and dramatic coastal path. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are only ten minutes drive away. At Lulworth swimming, fishing trips, diving, rib rides and the Fossil Forest can be enjoyed and there is an area of coastal path extending westwards to Weymouth and to Studland in the east. The Saxon town of Wareham is within a ten-minute drive and here, there are a variety of shops, and visitors can enjoy boating on the river. The sandy beaches of Studland and Swanage are within a 20-minute drive. Studland offers miles of unspoilt sandy beaches and Swanage has the facilities of a seaside resort including boating, fishing, diving, amusements and the added attraction of Swanage Steam Railway.

Priory Farm Cottage is a chocolate-box detached property in a secluded position, with gorgeous gardens. The cottage dates back over 200 years and care has been taken to retain original beams, pretty windows and some flagstone floors. On the ground floor there is a spacious sitting room with comfortable sofas, an arm chair, large flat-screen wall mounted television with Freesat and DVD player, and a wood burning stove; a fitted kitchen with a granite worktop, Belfast sink, fridge freezer with iced water facility, electric Rayburn microwave and dishwasher; a utility room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer; a shower room with built in shower, WC and small basin; a second sitting room with a television and games for children.

Upstairs there are fitted carpets and three bedrooms; two beautiful double rooms and a single room, plus a tiled bathroom with bath, hand shower with wall attachment, basin and WC. All of the bedrooms have garden views and the double bedrooms have televisions. Central heating, logs and electricity are provided without extra charge. A travel cot and high chair can be made available at a small cost. A stairgate and WiFi internet are provided without extra charge and telephone available.

Priory Farm Cottage has large gardens which are fenced and hedged. There are open areas of lawn, two areas with garden furniture where meals can be enjoyed outside, a barbecue and a large Wendy House for children to explore. A garden room within the confines of the cottage has comfortable seating which provides another attractive place to relax. There is a separately fenced area of garden with a lily pond, and visitors have use of an orchard area with a basket ball net and small football nets. A private drive leads to the cottage and there is parking space beside the property for three to four cars. One dog is permitted by agreement as long as it is not allowed in the main cottage, but kept in the enclosed covered area at the rear of the cottage and in the garden room, and utility room which this area adjoins.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Perfect cottage for 3 children and dog - lots of outdoor space for them all to run around freely, and warm and cosy inside. The cottage is near to some beautiful scenery: we walked part of the South West Coast Path, hunted for fossils, visited Corfe Castle and went for a ride on the Swanage steam railway. Owners very helpful when needed: we had a sRead moremall issue with a broken door lock that was fixed immediately. Would love to return one day. Hide

This second visit the dog was not allowed in the cottage and was expected to be left outside in a covered patio area which flooded during the rain we experienced. The only other place for our dog was a wooden conservatory. Our dog has never been left outside of our house so for the time we stayed we ignored this as she was allowed in the cottage duRead morering our first visit. This made us feel very uncomfortable and together with the bad weather we decided to go home after 3 days. Hide

Excellent location - we enjoyed trips out to a local farm, two beaches, the tank museum and a play centre (great for children should it rain). We were a little disappointed on arrival due to the cottage not matching the description / pictures. The childrens play items were not there as described although there was a big trampoline, a play room and Read moregarden room with lots of toys and books. Hide

lovely quite cottage where you can stay and have a bbq or go to the beach down the road .the beds are very comfortable and the garden was full of roses which smell wonderful in the morning, there's plenty to do for children with a play house at the bottom of the garden and a ps3 in the cottage and a lovely summer house to read in and have a good reRead morest would recommend to any family and friends. A lovely cottage and well equipped on the whole. Easy access to the beach, places of interest and walks. I believe there are also good walks on the farmland but unfortunately the owners were away so we couldn't ask where you could or couldn't walk.

Whilst wifi is apparently available it is virtually unusuable as the signal strength is almost non-existent apart from in the sun room.
