The cottage has been sensitively converted from an 18th century Grade II Listed stone barn. It has been furnished and equipped with care and has attractive open views at the rear across fields to the Downs. The accommodation is all on the ground floor and follows an open-plan design which gives the feeling of space. There is a light and pleasant sitting room with comfortable sofas, television, DVD and a hi-fi system. The floor in this area is furnished with rugs over the original flagstones. There is a welcoming dining area and newly fitted kitchen with electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washer/dryer.
The cottage has two bedrooms - one double, and one twin room, plus a bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. A travel cot and highchair can be provided. Electric heaters keep the cottage warm in colder weather. Heating and electricity are provided free of charge. The cottage has a wireless broadband internet (WiFi) connection available at a small extra charge.
There is a lovely terrace at the rear of Paper Barn with open views across the lawn and fields towards the downs. Garden furniture is provided. A barbecue is available on request, free of charge. The lawned garden has a small pear tree and is a relaxing place to unwind. It is only a ten-minute walk from the rural village of Newchurch, which has a great public house for meals. The lovely beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor can be found within a 10- 20 minute drive. The market town of Newport is within a 15-minute drive. Parking spaces for two cars are adjacent to the garden. Access to the cottage is along a private lane which is bumpy in places. A rural bus service is within a quarter of a mile.
