Set in the centre of the stunning Purbeck region, this stylish, bright and attractive cottage offers comfortable accommodation for a family or a couple seeking a quiet holiday home surrounded by glorious heathland. The cottage makes an excellent base for nature lovers, with opportunities to see deer and a wide variety of birds at RSPB Stoborough Heath which is just a few metres from the door. This spacious and inviting getaway also features a games cabin where you can relax or play pool, chess and table football.

On entering this delightful property, you will find the bright, fresh and charming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The light and restful lounge is an ideal space for relaxation, with plenty of comfortable seating, a Smart TV, DVD player and Bluetooth speaker so you can unwind at the end of the day. The pretty dining area is ideal for sharing a family meal which you can prepare in the stylishly designed kitchen. There are also two cosy bedrooms: a king-size room on the first floor, and a super king-size room on the second floor with lovely country views and reduced head height. Stepping outside, there’s a gated and paved front garden with planted borders, and a charming back garden with a large lawn, patio, BBQ and garden furniture so you can enjoy al fresco meals.

The back garden has access directly out onto the heath and is perfect for exploring the Hartland Moor, Stoborough Heath and Arne Reedbeds National Nature Reserves (all within 2.5 miles). We had a lovely stay at Nightjar Cottage. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we had all the facilities we needed for a family of four, plus dog. This truly is a wonderful home...not a house but a home and you feel like that from the moment you walk in. A beautiful cottage with all the comforts of home. Exceptionally clean and well equipped. The cottage was perfectly positioned to enjoy many local attractions. We enjoyed the games cabin and BBQs in the garden overlooking the reserve. A very lovely stay.

This cottage was beautifully renovated, dressed and equipped, the location is great and the garden is fantastic, being able to get on the Heathland from the garden when you have a dog is brilliant. Would highly recommend Nightjar Cottage.

What a beautifully renovated cottage in a beautiful area. The road is pretty quiet and the beds were comfy so we slept very well. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and everything looks new. The house had everything we needed, even towels for the dog! The back garden backs onto the heath and we would see the deer every evening at the bottom gate. The nightjar cottage was a lovely place. Had everything we needed as a family and there was plenty of things to go and do as a family especially with the sunny weather we had. I just think if it was raining it would be a bit more difficult to find things to do it entertain the children because a lot of the attractions was all out doors. We thought this cottage was delightful. It was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Also very dog friendly with a great sized lawned garden. In a quiet location (a tiny bit of traffic passing by occasionally) looking out onto open heath front and back. In a great location for exploring the Isle of Purbeck. I beautifully presented and maintained property with all the amenities and comfort of home. The open plan living, dining and kitchen made for a very social space with a large garden for the dog to run around plus a garden room for games!

Beautiful and clean, very homely and comfortable. Everything you need , even the welcome basket was a lovely touch. The dog absolutely loved the garden, and the children loved the games room, which they spent hours in. I would definitely recommend and go back.
