Forming part of a small terrace overlooking a pond, this Grade II-listed cottage offers attractive and comfortable holiday accommodation on the Isle of Purbeck.

This delightful stone cottage with a green front door is beautifully situated overlooking the large mill pond in the pretty old part of Swanage. The pond is home to ducks and moorhens and is beside the charming church of St Marys. This is a lovely, peaceful setting with no passing traffic. The cottage is within a pleasant five-minute stroll of the sandy beach of the seaside resort; here, the sand gently slopes into the water and is ideal for swimming and paddling. Boat trips can be enjoyed, as well as fishing and diving. A wonderful steam railway links Swanage with the historic village of Corfe Castle. The cottage is also in a wonderful cycling and walking area. There are scenic coastal walks westwards to the traditional Purbeck villages of Worth Matravers, Kingston and Kimmeridge with their stone cottages, traditional public houses and local ciders. Walks westwards across Ballard Down with magnificent views of Old Harrys Rocks, to miles of unspoilt sandy beach at Studland; a haven for wildlife and birds.

My Home on the Pond is a traditional Purbeck stone cottage which is Grade II listed, and is one of a small terrace overlooking the mill pond. The cottage has been furnished and equipped with care, providing attractive and comfortable accommodation for five people in three bedrooms. It is centrally heated and all of the rooms have views of the pretty mill pond or the garden. On the ground floor there is a cosy sitting room with a large sofa, armchair, television with Freeview and DVD player, and a wood burning stove which provides a central focus in colder weather. There is a separate dining room with a bay window overlooking the garden; a kitchen equipped with a Belfast sink, gas cooker and hob, microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer.

Stairs lead up to three attractive bedrooms; a single room which overlooks the mill pond and two double bedrooms with king-size beds - one of these overlooks the mill pond and the other has a garden view; a family bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and WC. Central heating and electricity are at no extra charge. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. WiFi internet connection is available.

The cottage has a walled and gated garden at the front of the property and a large walled garden at the rear with a lovely lawn, attractive shrubberies and garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. Visitors can park to unload at the front of the cottage and a garden gate at the rear of the cottage provides access to a road where one car can generally be parked adjacent to the garden wall. There is a bus service, steam train, shops, public houses and restaurants within five minutes walk.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

We had a very nice time , we had not been to Swanage for a number of years but it seemed better not worse than we remembered. We enjoyed the church bells on Saturday for a wedding and Sunday for Church and Wednesday for practice . My daughter was in the front bedroom so she heard the Church clock every hour some people might not like that. Parking Read morefor two cars was more difficult we parked some times on the main road outside the Church as Locarno Road was full as well Hide

A cosy, comfortable cottage, great location in the centre of town, good public transport access, steam railway station nearby - The Flying Scotsman train was visiting whilst we were there! Lovely position overlooking the old church and duck pond whilst being near to all amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay.

Nice 17th-century cottage in the what must be the most historic part of Swanage. Recently-decorated and clean, very comfy beds, nice large living room and ditto dining room. Pretty garden being further improved. Great value.

A lovely cottage in a quiet situation. So handy for the delights of Swanage and its surrounds.

Great location, quiet but close to all you need. The cottage is good with everything you would need for a week away. We particularly enjoyed the garden as the weather was brilliant x

We can not recommend this cottage. The garden and the location of the cottage is very nice, but all in all the cottage itself was very dissappointing. The cottage is definitely not worth the money. There are too many things which need to be repaired or modernized.
