Pretty cottage sleeping four guests, located within the walls of the Saxon town of Wareham: a picturesque town with its quay, independent shops, and good range of restaurants and cafes.

This property enjoys a fantastic location within the Saxon walls of the quayside town of Wareham. Everything that the town has to offer is just a short walk from the property, including a range of unusual independent shops, weekly market, and sports centre. The town quay is a fantastic place to visit, whether you want to sit in the pub and watch the boats go by, or take a boat trip along the River Frome down to Poole Harbour. The area is well known for its stunning coast line, and guests to this property have a great choice of sandy beaches on the Bournemouth side of Poole Harbour, or the fossil-rich beaches and dramatic seascapes of the Jurassic Coast.

This property is a fine example of a period cottage, and retains many period features, giving it a cosy and atmospheric feel. The lounge is a great example of this, with its beamed ceiling and inglenook fireplace which houses a warming wood burner. However, guests do not need to forego modern creature comforts, and there is a TV/DVD, and iPod in the room which can all be enjoyed from the comfortable sofas. The country-style kitchen/diner has underfloor heating, so there is no need to get cold toes in the morning, and is home to a dining table seating four. The kitchen area itself is well-equipped, and offers a Range oven, hob, fridge with ice compartment, whilst the microwave, freezer, and washer/dryer can be found in the separate utility room. Steep, cottage-style stairs lead from the lounge to the first-floor accommodation where there are two bedrooms. Both of these are king-size rooms, each with plenty of storage space and a dressing table. The main bathroom is also located on the first floor and offers a bath with handheld shower and WC, whilst there is also a ground-floor shower room with shower and WC.

Outside, the property benefits from an enclosed patio garden which has garden furniture and a BBQ, making it a lovely spot to unwind with a drink at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. There is parking for one small car which is accessed via a narrow entrance, whilst there is also roadside parking available locally for larger cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Really lovely little cottage, comfortable and warm, well located for Wareham itself and the wider Purbeck Island. The cottage works really well with dogs as the garden is enclosed and the wall and river walks are nearby, would definitely book again

This is a pretty cottage, clean, well equipped and close to the centre of Wareham, which has many pubs and restaurants in which to eat. If you have a car larger than a Mini, then parking at the rear of the property would be a problem, as the access is VERY narrow. Apart from that everything about the cottage was fine. Good walks all around and boatRead more trips available close by. Hide

The cottage is very comfortable, with a pretty garden set on two levels ideal for eating outside. Its a very quiet area despite being on a quite used road. Ideally situated to see the area, we went to Swanage, Poole, Weymouth all by bus, from the town, from Poole there are lots more places to visit. The Kings Arms pub is just down the road and is vRead moreery welcoming, and does lovely meals. Hide

Cottage on a quiet road in the heart of Wareham, a very pleasant little town in Purbeck, with a Saxon church nearby, also Arne Nature Reserve, Studland Bay, Corfe Castle. King's Arms pub is very friendly with good food (avoid Italian Kitchen, over-rated and very overpriced - 21 for distinctly unpleasant sea bass). The cottage garden is quiet and reRead morelaxing. This was our 3rd visit to this lovely "Home from Home" cottage. It was really clean and comfortable, within easy reach of restaurants, shops, etc. lots of places of interest in the area to visit. Very good value for money and we hope to return again next year.

We managed to use the car parking space behind the cottage in a VW Golf, which was fine. My 87 year old mum managed the steep stairs (11) just twice a day as the downstairs bathroom was perfect. The sunny patio was lovely to relax in after a day of exploring and the location is perfect for this.

Lovely cottage, in quiet location, with pretty cottage garden, very handy having upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower room when you have two teenagers. Good Wifi, pretty bedrooms.

The cottage is well equipped and wants for nothing. Ideally situated you only have to take a five minute stroll to be on the high street of Wareham. We have loved our week there enhanced by glorious weather. The scones cream and jam are a very nice touch along with milk coffee and tea. Thoroughly recommended.
