Located in idyllic surroundings on the outskirts of a picturesque hamlet, and close to the sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin, this lovely property enjoys beautiful views across open countryside.

Meadow End is situated in beautiful East Wight countryside on the outskirts of the attractive hamlet of Alverstone and within an easy ten-minute drive of the sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin. The property enjoys panoramic views across open countryside towards Culver Cliffs, and the sea can be glimpsed in the distance. This is a wonderful walking area and visitors can stroll directly from the cottage to access a network of footpaths leading to the downs, riverside walks and the sea. There is also a pleasant walk into the nearby village of Newchurch which has a great public house for meals. Visitors are within a few minutes ride of a cycle path which connects with the centre of the Island and the coast. In the surrounding garden and fields of the cottage visitors can enjoy seeing a wide range of birds, plus red squirrels, badgers and foxes. A bird hide is within a ten-minute walk.

This is a spacious self-contained wing of a magnificent cottage built in 2009. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard and provides attractive and comfortable accommodation for a couple or family in two bedrooms. The open-plan design gives a remarkable feeling of light and space. On the ground floor there is a spacious kitchen equipped to the highest standards offering units with a granite style top, a large range style cooker, microwave, dishwasher and an American style fridge freezer. (A washing machine is provided in a separate utility area). There is an adjoining dining area with French doors opening into the garden. Stairs lead up to a pleasant sitting room with a sofa and chairs, plus a television with Sky Q and a DVD player. French doors open from here onto a balcony with open views across the fields to Culver Cliffs. This is wonderful spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an aperitif in the evening.

To access the bedrooms, three stairs lead from the dining area to two bedrooms; a spacious double room with a double bed, large windows and an en-suite bathroom equipped with a bath, overhead shower, basin and W.W. plus an attractive twin room. Access to the bathroom is via the double bedroom. The cottage is double glazed and centrally heated. All heating and electricity is at no extra charge. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. WiFi internet connection is available.

At the side of the cottage there is a secluded private patio and an area of lawn with a small pond where visitors can relax and enjoy meals in the sunshine. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. Visitors are welcome to use the larger cottage garden if they wish. The one acre garden extends into an enchanting area of woodland. Children do need to be closely supervised as there are two ponds in the garden. There is a public house within 20 minutes walk, and general stores one and a half miles away. A rural bus service is a five-minute walk away. Two cars can be parked in the drive. The property is accessed via a short gravel lane.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Close to shops and beaches, so very well situated and very quiet. Lots of good pubs in the area which you need to book. Isle of Wight is a great place for a family with lots to do and see. Would recommend.

We stayed at the cottage for a week and had a fantastic time. We were welcomed by the owners, the cottage itself is beautiful, everything you need - a real home from home. Wonderful scenery of the island, with horses and wildlife roaming the neighbouring fields. Ideal location to explore.
