Close to two charming seaside resorts, his lovely rural cottage offers delightful views and nestles in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just a few minutes’ walk from the glorious coastal path.

Luccombe Cottage is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The small hamlet of Luccombe is nestled in rolling countryside between the seaside resorts of Ventnor and Shanklin - both less than a four-minute drive away. Shanklin is renowned for its sandy beach which gently slopes into the water - ideal for paddling and swimming. Ventnor benefits from a variety of restaurants with fresh fish available from the harbour and a secluded beach. The cottage is also in a beautiful walking area with direct access to paths leading towards the downs and the coastal path is within five minutes walk.

Luccombe Cottage stands at the centre of three adjoining properties and enjoys panoramic views across the surrounding fields and down the valley. The cottage has been renovated with care. It is centrally heated and is furnished to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation in a peaceful setting. On the ground floor the accommodation is largely open plan giving the cottage a light and spacious feel. There is a sitting room with a sofa, arm chairs and flat screen television with DVD player, with bi-fold doors opening directly into the conservatory so that in warmer weather the rooms seamlessly merge to provide one space in which to relax. French doors open from the conservatory onto the front terrace with open rural views.

There is a charming dining room; a separate well equipped fitted kitchen with modern units, a granite work top, range style electric cooker with double oven and grill, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice box washing machine and tumble dryer. A Webber gas barbecue is located just outside the kitchen door. (There is a freezer in the garage). At the entrance, the cottage has a large lobby area which is ideal for walkers with plenty of space for coats, boots and beach bags, plus a cloakroom with W.C. and basin.

Stairs lead up to three bedrooms - a double room with a king-size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and lovely views down the valley; a second spacious bunk bedroom for children with a wardrobe and similar open views; a third bedroom with a single bed, plus a trundle bed beneath; (use of the second bed in this room does mean space is quite restricted); a family bathroom with a bath, overhead power shower, basin and W.C. A travel cot and highchair can be made available. Wi-Fi is available at the property for social usage, but please note that as signal is intermittent connection can be unreliable. Central heating and electricity are without extra charge.

The cottage has a lovely terrace with garden furniture at the front of the cottage where visitors can relax in the sunshine. In addition there is large private fenced garden beyond the adjoining cottage. Here, steps lead up to a terrace above the garage with garden furniture and spectacular views, and there is also a lawn where games can be played. The garage can be used for the storage of bikes and boating equipment etc. One car can be parked in front of the garage and a second space is available within a few yards of the cottage. The cottage is approached via a country gravel lane. There is a bus service within ten minutes walk.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely peaceful setting. Cottage was very well equipped with everything we could need and more. Very helpful information in the cottage from the owners, we followed one of their suggested walks. We will definitely stay again.
