Lodore is situated in a charming small lane on the outskirts of Freshwater, within a 10 minute walk of the lovely beach of Colwell Bay, on the west side of the Isle of Wight. Nearby there is Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay and Alum Bay. The small coastal town and sailing centre of Yarmouth is within a 5 minute drive. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area with a delightful part of the coastal path and walks across the beautiful Tennyson Down nearby. Visitors can walk into the centre of Freshwater where there are a variety of small shops, a supermarket and public houses which are good for food plus the West Wight Sports Centre with its swimming pool and fitness centre. Freshwater Golf Club is also nearby.

Lodore is a lovely traditional semi detached cottage which has been furnished and equipped to a high standard to provide very attractive accommodation for 6 people in 3 bedrooms. The cottage is centrally heated and double glazed. On the ground floor there is a charming sitting room with leather sofas plus an armchair in the attractive bay window, feature fireplace and flat screen HD television with Freeview plus Blu-ray player and Nintendo Wii games console; a separate dining room with a table and chairs for 6 so that meals can be enjoyed in comfort; a well equipped fitted kitchen with breakfast area, a range style cooker with a double oven and 5 burner gas hob, extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer/dryer and an iPod docking station with radio. A couple of deep steps lead from the kitchen to a lean to store room at the rear of the cottage which is ideal for storing bicycles or walking boots. Fairly steep stairs lead up to three delightful bedrooms - a double bedroom with a king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and wall mounted Smart TV; a lovely twin bedroom with a wardrobe and a second attractive twin bedroom; a family bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower, basin, towel rail and WC. A travel cot/high chair can be made available. Lodore has a sunny patio which is ideal for al fresco dining.

The rear garden is gated and fenced. Parking for two cars is available in the front drive. It is a very good location for exploring the Island. Regular bus service within 5 minutes walk. Boat trips from Yarmouth and Alum Bay

very clean, well equipped and comfortable, good heating/plenty of hot water. Our weather was not the best and the island had been suffering from the very wet winter so the nearest beach was slightly the worse but it was sandy and looked as if it could be good in the summer

Wonderful house, well equipped and in a great location. Only a few minutes walk to the beach at Colwell bay and the shops in Freshwater village.

Lodore was a wonderful holiday home. Very peaceful with a sun trap of a small garden. Extremely well equipped, very clean and comfortable.Good shower and bath. Ideal location within walking distance of Colwell Bay and shops in Freshwater. Great house and secure garden for the dog. .

Lodore in Freshwater was a lovely base on the Isle of Wight. Cosy, decorated really tastefully and very well equipped. We really enjoyed staying there.

Beautifully clean and well equipped cottage. Very well positioned to take advantage of Colwell Bay beach, cafe and bar. Freshwater just a walk away. For people bringing a dog Colwell Bay does accept dogs on part of the beach.

Fantastic location for a relaxed holiday, on a nice quiet back road with little traffic. Lovely laying in bed listening to birds singing. The village is great with loads of amenities, local coffee shop is excellent, as are the pubs. Loved the morning walk to the beach, and country walks to pubs. What a beautiful property! We had a wonderful stay at Lodore for 7 nights and would highly recommend it as a place to stay on the Isle of Wight. It was incredibly clean, well appointed and comfortable.

The cottage is in an excellent location. No need to use your car, you can easily walk to the beach, coast path, shops and restaurants. We appreciated the equipment and the place was spotless clean. The garden is worth mentioning too. Great for the dogs but also great to sit in and get some of that sunshine in autumn. A lovely cottage, clean and comfortable. Easy walking distance to Colwell Bay and into Freshwater. The house had everything we needed. We appreciated being able to sit out in the garden during the hot weather and were pleased that it had a secure gate to keep the children safe. The house is in superb order. The cleanliness is wonderful. The location is in a quiet road but within easy walking distance of shops and Coldwell bay beach. The furniture and bedding is too quality . Beds very comfy Will book again
