Comfortable holiday cottage on the west side of the island, situated less than a mile from the centre of Freshwater. This property is a superb choice for families looking for an exceptional base from which to explore all the treasures of the Isle of Wight.

Lodore is situated in a charming small lane on the outskirts of Freshwater, within a 10 minute walk of the lovely beach of Colwell Bay, on the west side of the Isle of Wight. Nearby there is Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay and Alum Bay. The small coastal town and sailing centre of Yarmouth is within a 5 minute drive. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area with a delightful part of the coastal path and walks across the beautiful Tennyson Down nearby. Visitors can walk into the centre of Freshwater where there are a variety of small shops, a supermarket and public houses which are good for food plus the West Wight Sports Centre with its swimming pool and fitness centre. Freshwater Golf Club is also nearby.

Lodore is a lovely traditional semi detached cottage which has been furnished and equipped to a high standard to provide very attractive accommodation for 6 people in 3 bedrooms. The cottage is centrally heated and double glazed. On the ground floor there is a charming sitting room with leather sofas plus an armchair in the attractive bay window, feature fireplace and flat screen HD television with Freeview plus Blu-ray player and Nintendo Wii games console; a separate dining room with a table and chairs for 6 so that meals can be enjoyed in comfort; a well equipped fitted kitchen with breakfast area, a range style cooker with a double oven and 5 burner gas hob, extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer/dryer and an iPod docking station with radio. Stairs lead up to three delightful bedrooms - a double bedroom with a king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and wall mounted television with Freeview; a lovely twin bedroom with a wardrobe and a second attractive twin bedroom; a family bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower, basin, towel rail and WC. A travel cot/high chair can be made available. Central heating and electricity without extra charge. Complimentary WiFi. Lodore has a sunny patio which is ideal for al fresco dining.

The rear garden is gated and fenced. Parking for two cars is available in the front drive. It is a very good location for exploring the Island. Regular bus service within 5 minutes walk. Boat trips from Yarmouth and Alum Bay

A comfortable property, very clean and presented to a high standard. Top marks to the cleaning team - perfect. The Kitchen was the best equipped out of all the cottages we have rented. The Beach is only a ten minute walk and it's a similar distance to the nearest shop. If you enjoy walking their are plenty of interesting walks from the house, a gooRead mored map is helpful for finding some of the less obvious Footpaths and Bridleways. Hide

We loved this property, situated in a quiet leafy lane. It was spotless, with very comfy beds. Delightful sandy beach just a short walk across the village green. Then high street with all you need in the opposite direction. Lots to see and do at this end of the island. However didn't taken long by car to get anywhere.

Lodore is perfectly placed for short or longer dog walks. Shops with long opening hours are close by as is public transport. The beach is easily reached too. The property is modern inside and has all the equipment needed. The garden is enclosed and there is a rear entry where muddy dogs can be cleaned off. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious.Read more I would definitely recommend it and hope to use it again. Hide

This cottage had enclosed garden which was ideal for the dogs and parking that was adequate. The house was well supplied with everything you needed, they even put milk, butter, tea, coffee as well as a nice pot of jam and a loaf of bread, they was a dish washer, washing machine and microwave, all the crockery and utensils were of a high quality. We loved this Beautiful house . The recent decoration was tasteful and very elegant . Very clean throughout . The beds were most comfortable and the bed linen and towels were of a high quality. Marks and Spencer crockery and all the electrical appliances were in good order . Lovely Range cooker.
