Comfortable country cottage a short walk from the pretty village of Godshill where you will find a fabulous collection of traditional tearooms and an interesting range of independent shops.

Perfect for exploring the south of the Isle of Wight – and just 4 miles from the coast – this inviting cottage makes a lovely holiday retreat for a family or a small group of friends looking for a quiet getaway in beautiful surroundings. Situated on a working farm with llamas, alpacas and plenty of opportunities for fishing, this pretty cottage offers delightful accommodation for six guests and is a wonderful base for keen walkers and cyclists.

The welcoming lounge is a lovely space for relaxing in, with exposed beams and a wood burner set in a brick fireplace, which you can snuggle in front of as you watch a movie or chat late into the night. The light-filled conservatory has views across the pretty front garden and makes an ideal space for sharing your favourite meals. The attractive kitchen is a pleasure to cook in and features a handy breakfast bar. There's also a charming ground-floor twin bedroom and a utility room with views over the back garden. Two double bedrooms with rural views are on the first floor. Stepping outside, the gardens have space for children to play and back onto the rolling countryside. There's a selection of garden furniture so you can enjoy some al fresco dining. The farm offers a range of activities including walking the llamas and alpacas and fishing in the farm ponds which are well-stocked with carp, roach and tench.

The pretty village of Godshill has some of the oldest buildings on the island including a thatched church, and is home to a popular model village and a range of great places to eat and drink. Nearby attractions include Shanklin Chine (4.5 miles), St Catherine's Down, the Isle of Wight Zoo, Carisbrooke Castle (all within 6.5 miles) and the thriving seaside town of Ventnor (5.5 miles).

The house was lovely and in a great location. Set on a working farm - mainly llamas. Mark and Kathy are a fantastic couple of hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We will happily go there again. A lovely experience Dave
