This lovely Grade II listed stone cottage is attractively situated in a delightful rural hamlet only 1.5 miles from the centre of Shanklin, a delightful seaside resort with a glorious sandy beach.

This Grade II listed stone cottage is attractively situated in a courtyard of five cottages in a peaceful, rural hamlet only one and a half miles from the centre of Shanklin. This seaside resort boasts a vast, sandy beach which gently slopes to the water - ideal for swimming and paddling, and offers a range of activities and traditional amusements. The cottage is surrounded by patchwork, open farmland with some nearby woodland. This is a good walking area, and visitors can stroll into Shanklin or follow footpaths on to the downs where there are wonderful panoramic coastal views and inter linking footpaths to some of the major walking trails on the Island. There are a variety of shops in Shanklin, and also in the market town of Newport which is within a 15-minute drive.

Harvest Cottage has been lovingly converted from the original stables of Apse Manor House and dates back to 1695. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard, providing comfortable accommodation for four people in two bedrooms. The cottage is centrally heated. On the ground floor there is a fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer; a country cottage style dining area with a circular table and dresser and a separate spacious sitting room with a large sofa and chairs, Smart television and CD player with iPod docking station.

Stairs lead up to a bathroom with a bath, handheld shower, basin and W.C.; one double room (king-size bed) with a wall mounted television and a second bedroom with a five foot zip and link bed which can be used as a second double room, or as a twin room for children (2ft 6 beds). A travel cot and high chair can be provided if required. Heating and electricity are provided without extra charge. Wifi internet can also be provided.

The cottage has an enclosed, sunny courtyard with garden furniture and a barbecue so that meals can be enjoyed outside. A gate opens into a further area where two cars can be parked beside the cottage. A regular bus service is within a ten minutes walk. You will find small general stores and a post office within one mile. Nearby places to visit include Amazon World Zoo Park, the picturesque village of Godshill and the medieval castle of Carisbrooke. The seaside towns of Sandown and Ventnor are within an easy five to ten minute drive and almost all areas of the island can be reached within 45 minutes.

A beautiful cottage and lovely little outdoor area to sit in when the weather allows. The beds were very comfortable and the big pink fluffy bath towels were a real pleasure to use..

Amazing property photos on Web site don't show it as its best. Really clean you can smell that as soon as open door. Lovely cottage in a nice quiet area, plenty of places to take a stroll nearby! Everywhere easily accessible from cottage. Cottage itself was comfy, well insulated (not too hot, not too cold!) Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful, well equipped cosy property in a perfect location for our needs. However, large shed takes up big part of tiny courtyard, but borders were well-kempt. Armchairs in lounge do need either serious attention or to be replaced as the bottoms have gone, we padded the bases out with cushions or else they would have been too uncomfortable. We had a lovely stay here, plenty of walks to do with a dog. Theres a nice woodland walk just down the road. The house was very clean, even under the armchairs and sofa which we had to lift to hunt for a missing toy. Shanklin is a lovely seaside town with plenty to do and a sandy beach.

Went home 2 days early. Next door had workers in to instal bathroom all week. On the other side were 2 very yappy dogs which woke us at 7:15am each day and destroyed our peace every time we tried to sit outside. The 'patio' was very overgrown with weeds - not a pleasant space at all. Thick dust on the window sills. The roof light window in the bathRead moreroom is disgusting and the shower attachment and curtain made for a pitiful shower experience. I could go on. We won't be back. Extremely overpriced. Hide

Lovely traditional cottage with comfortable and quality bedroom furniture. In need of some cosmetic attention to bathroom and outdoor space. Peaceful idyllic location. Well equipped - even a peg bag for the washing! We also enjoyed using the bbq. We felt it was overpriced but had to go in the school holidays. We had a lovely time.
