This lovely Grade II listed stone cottage is attractively situated in a delightful rural hamlet only 1.5 miles from the centre of Shanklin, a delightful seaside resort with a glorious sandy beach.

This Grade II listed stone cottage is attractively situated in a courtyard of five cottages in a peaceful, rural hamlet only one and a half miles from the centre of Shanklin. This seaside resort boasts a vast, sandy beach which gently slopes to the water - ideal for swimming and paddling, and offers a range of activities and traditional amusements. The cottage is surrounded by patchwork, open farmland with some nearby woodland. This is a good walking area, and visitors can stroll into Shanklin or follow footpaths on to the downs where there are wonderful panoramic coastal views and inter linking footpaths to some of the major walking trails on the Island. There are a variety of shops in Shanklin, and also in the market town of Newport which is within a 15-minute drive.

Harvest Cottage has been lovingly converted from the original stables of Apse Manor House and dates back to 1695. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard, providing comfortable accommodation for four people in two bedrooms. The cottage is centrally heated. On the ground floor there is a modern fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer; a stylish dining area with a circular table and dresser; a separate spacious sitting room with a large sofa and chairs, television, DVD player and CD player with iPod docking station.

Stairs lead up to a bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and W.C.; one double room (king-size bed) with a wall mounted television and a second bedroom with a five foot zip and link bed which can be used as a second double room, or as a twin room for children (2ft 6 beds). A travel cot and high chair can be provided if required. Heating and electricity are provided without extra charge. Wifi internet can also be provided.

The cottage has an enclosed, sunny courtyard with garden furniture and a barbecue so that meals can be enjoyed outside. A gate opens into a further area where two cars can be parked beside the cottage. A regular bus service is within a ten minutes walk. You will find small general stores and a post office within one mile. Nearby places to visit include Amazon Adventure, the picturesque village of Godshill and the medieval castle of Carisbrooke. The seaside towns of Sandown and Ventnor are within an easy five to ten minute drive and almost all areas of the island can be reached within 45 minutes.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Extremely well equipped cottage in a lovely quiet location. We found everything was spotlessly clean on our arrival and the cottage was a perfect base to explore the Island from. We will definitely try to book the cottage again when we return to the Island next year.

Delightful cottage in a beautiful location. small friendly complex of cottages with off road carparking. Ideal for dog walks and is located between three waymarked footpaths (just beware of fast cars on tight bends). Quick access to Aldi and Morrisons in Lake with village shop and post office only 2 or 3 minutes drive away.
