Comfortable holiday cottage sleeping five guests, situated in a fantastic location for exploring the beautiful Isle of Purbeck, within walking distance of the historic Jurassic Coast at Dancing Ledge.

Green Leas is situated in Langton Matravers - a village surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Purbeck Hills and within 20 minutes walk of the coastal path and the sea at Dancing Ledge. This is a dramatic area of coastline - part of the Jurassic Coast and with the status of a World Heritage Site. The walk westwards to Worth Matravers, Kimmeridge and Lulworth is particularly spectacular. The more relaxing Priests Way is within a ten-minute stroll of the cottage and this offers an easy walk or cycling route to Worth Matravers or Swanage The seaside resort of Swanage is within a three or four minute drive. Here, there is a sandy beach, a Victorian pier, boating, fishing, diving facilities and a variety of seaside entertainments, as well as Swanage Steam Railway which links the town with the historic village of Corfe Castle.

The cottage stands in a quiet road on the edge of the village, within a five-minute walk of the village centre with its shop, public house, church and museum. It is a semi-detached property which offers an ideal base for exploring The Purbecks. Green Leas has been furnished and equipped with care to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation for five people. It is centrally heated and double glazed. Upstairs there are three bedrooms; one double room with views across the garden, a spacious twin room and a single bedroom; a well equipped bathroom with a bath, overhead power shower, basin and WC.

On the ground, the accommodation is largely open plan with a well-equipped fitted kitchen with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator with ice box. (A washing machine is also provided). There is a large sitting room extending the length of the cottage with a sofa and chairs, feature fireplace and flat screen television with Freeview/DVD, plus a dining area close to French doors which open into the garden. (It is not possible to use the open fire). A travel cot and high chair can be made available. Central heating/electricity is provided without extra charge.

Green Leas has a beautiful garden with a sunny terrace at the rear of the cottage, and garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed outside. Steps lead down to a lawn, and from here you can cross a small bridge to a further area of garden which is often visited by badgers at dusk. Stone steps give access across the wall at the far end of the garden and provide a direct link to a footpath crossing National Trust fields to the coast and Dancing Ledge. At the front of the cottage is a drive with parking space for one car. (Additional cars can be parked in the quiet no-through road) A gated passageway provides access to the rear of the cottage. Visitors should be aware that there is a three foot unfenced drop from the parking area to the path at the front of the cottage. At the rear of the cottage there is a stream half way down the garden during wet weather. Children do therefore need to be very closely supervised in the garden. The upper terrace can be made a secure area for young children to play.

Quiet location. Long garden leading to public footpath. Badgers. Comfortable living room, tv and dvd, no wifi. Small kitchen but user friendly. Fridge has icebox in it. Three bedrooms, double at back, bed 4' 6". Twin at front also small single room. One bathroom, no downstairs toilet. All very clean on arrival. My daughter, her two children aged 11Read more and 10, and I, felt very at home all week. Easy drive into Swanage (Co-op, Budgens etc) and to beaches. Useful bus services. Hide

Green Leas is comfortable and cosy with a pleasant garden. The house is in a quiet road with lots of walking and beautiful scenery on the doorstep. Local buses serve Swanage one way or Poole the other. We would definitely return.

I can't imagine a nicer place to stay. The property was immaculate when we arrived and slept 5 very comfortably. Ideally located for walking and local amenities and also trips to visitor attractions on the Isle of Purbeck generally. I hope we can come back!

A comfortable house, slightly dated decor. Has a well equipped kitchen, and new bathroom. We loved the garden and especially watching the badgers arriving to be fed by friendly neighbours. Amazing walks right from the door. Especially liked the walk down to Tyneham and Worbarrow bay, on road to Lulworth.
