Thoughtfully maintained Grade II listed cottage sleeping four guests with attractive period features and a pretty, enclosed garden.

This Grade II listed cottage built of Island stone, dates back to 1695 and has been sympathetically converted from an ancient stone barn - being one of a pair of charming cottages, divided by an impressive central arch leading into a large courtyard with pretty gardens and four additional cottages. It is pleasantly situated in a quiet, rural hamlet in attractive countryside - there are great walks directly from the cottage to nearby woodlands and downs. It is also only one and a half miles from the seaside resort of Shanklin with its sweeping beaches.

Dairymaid has been renovated to a high standard and where possible, original features have been retained. It has been attractively furnished and well-equipped in keeping with the character of the cottage. The light and spacious living room boasts an impressive inglenook fireplace and French doors which open onto the secluded rear garden. It is furnished with a leather sofa and chairs and has television with Sky Q and DVD player. There is also a relaxing dining area overlooking the garden and a separate large kitchen with hardwood work tops, a Belfast sink, a range style cooker with electric double ovens and gas hob, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A tumble dryer is also provided.

There are two stylish bedrooms, one double and one twin room, along with a bathroom with a bath, W.C basin and walk in shower. Electricity and central heating are provided at no extra charge up to temperatures of 22 degrees. If higher temperatures are required, additional heating charges apply at cost price. The accommodation is all on one level apart from one step in the living room. A highchair and travel cot can be provided. Telephone and WiFi internet is available.

Dairymaid has an enclosed walled garden with fragrant plants all around where visitors can relax. There is garden furniture and a barbecue so that meals can be enjoyed alfresco. A gate from the garden opens onto the inner courtyard to go back under the arch to an area of garden at the front of the cottage, with parking spaces for two cars. There is a regular bus service within half a mile, and general stores within one mile. For Christmas, the cottage has a tree, decorations and lights.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Beautiful cottage in a quiet situation. Very spacious and well furnished with a compact garden at back well suited for catching afternoon sun. Aprox 30mins from East Cowes. Very dog friendly he even had his own welcome pack. Highly recommended.

A fantastic dog friendly cottage, very comfortable with every need catered for. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise, there were even Dog biscuits The flowers in each room were a lovely touch. This cottage is really homely and to us it was perfect, warm, comfortable and quiet.

Dairymaid Cottage is beautiful and we still can't believe all the "goodies" which were waiting for us when we arrived. Despite one of our dogs being quite poorly we still had a lovely week. Great food at the Buddle Inn in Niton.

Dairymaid cottage was a dream come true. It was so comfortable and had everything to make our holiday truly wonderful.Its location was perfect and not far from Shanklin old village. The welcome pack was unexpected and a nice surprise. We will definitely visit again.

A great cottage 2-3 mins drive from centre of Shanklin. Cottage was clean and had everything you could need. Was great to have our own private garden too. Def will return!

Very pretty cottage, well situated but in a quiet area. Safe and enclosed back garden. Lovely interior, very comfortable, nice touches of silk flowers, and cosy cushions and furniture. Very well equipped, clean and welcoming. We plan another stay in October.
