Stunning cottage conversion situated in the heart of the coastal town of Swanage, just a short walk from the picturesque sandy beach.

Located close to the centre of Swanage, this quaint and cheerful Grade II-listed property makes a lovely hideaway for a couple or a small family wanting to enjoy this beautiful part of Dorset. The cottage is one of several properties – including the nearby Ship Inn – which have been converted from the town’s Ship Hotel and has been beautifully furnished and decorated. The golden sandy beach is just a few hundred metres away and there are plenty of great restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and shops nearby.

On entering this pretty cottage, you will find yourself in the welcoming and attractive open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The cosy lounge has plenty of seating so you can enjoy a movie or a catch up with a good book. There’s a charming dining area, and the stylish kitchen is perfect for preparing any meal. Heading upstairs there are two charming bedrooms with oak floors. The double room has a TV/DVD, and the twin room can be made up as a 6’ double on prior request. A door from the first-floor landing leads out onto the small open courtyard seating area which is shared with the neighbouring properties and provides a lovely spot for a morning coffee.

The cottage is perfect for exploring Swanage and is just a few hundred metres from both Stone Quay and the Victorian-era pier. The beautiful Studland Beach lies to the north (4 miles), or you can head south to explore Durlston Country Park (1 mile). Other local attractions include Corfe Castle (6 miles), Brownsea Island (7 miles) and the Hartland Moor National Nature Reserve (8.5 miles). There are numerous beautiful beaches nearby including Kimmeridge Bay (11.5 miles) and Chapman’s Pool (5.5 miles), or you could discover landmarks and attractions including Smedmore House (9 miles), Dancing Ledge (3 miles) and Old Harry Rocks (4 miles).

The property is close to the beach and shops, with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Comfortable, with all the necessities for an enjoyable stay. Small hamper of bread , milk etc provided which is handy for a cup of tea on arrival Garage is small but there is usually spaces in nearby streets.

Loved the cottage, very well maintained and the extra touches were much appreciated, especially the fresh flowers and chocolate. An excellent position for the town and the sea, with many great local walks. The only downside was that the garage was very small and the approach difficult due to the cars parked in the courtyard. Really cute cottage - really close to the beach with excellent access to walking routes. Close drive to Lulworth. The cottage itself was bright and airy, clean and good facilities. Car parking is available although garage is small - but nearby streets had plenty of free spaces. Lovely little cottage with everything we needed. The flowers, bread, butter, oil, tea, coffee, sugar etc were really welcoming and will help us pack next time we book (I expect we will!). It was also good to have spare toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets and even washing machine liquid. Kids were catered well for with a set of nice melamine bowls and Read morecups and small cutlery, as well as bucket and spade, DVDs and games! The garage was a tight squeeze even for our Honda Civic, but there was enough to do locally so we didn't need to get the car out again until we left. Hide

Beautifully presented & well equipped. One minor issue, the main lock on the upstairs back door couldnt be unlocked from the inside. This could be a fire safety issue.
