Clematis Cottage is beautifully situated in the charming village of Worth Matravers amongst the rolling Purbeck hills. This is a conservation village in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is known for its stone cottages, pretty duck pond, tea shop and its traditional public house where local ciders can be enjoyed by open fires, or whilst enjoying the wonderful sea views in summer. This is a wonderful walking area with a footpath leading directly from the cottage to the sea at Winspit and to the coastal path which can be walked eastward to Swanage and Studland, or westward to the villages of Kimmeridge and Lulworth. This is part of the renowned Jurassic Coast. The small resort of Swanage is within a five minute drive and here, there is a lovely sandy beach for swimming and facilities for boating and diving. The Swanage Steam Railway links with Corfe Castle; another pretty village within a five minute drive of the cottage.

This delightful Grade II listed cottage is in a small terrace of properties in a quiet lane near the village pond. Care has been taken to retain the original features of wooden beams, flagstone floors and wooden windows. It has been furnished and equipped to provide attractive accommodation for five people in three bedrooms, with a maximum of four adults. On the ground floor there is an open plan sitting room with a sofa and chairs, an open fire, flat screen television with Freeview and DVD player; a pleasant dining area; a children's bedroom with a small single bed and a bunk bed; a separate small fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and large refrigerator with icebox.

Stairs lead up to another two bedrooms; a double room and a twin room, plus a family bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and WC. Central heating and electricity are without extra charge and a travel cot and high chair can be provided. WiFi internet is available. There is a small terrace at the rear of the cottage, and shared access with the adjoining cottage to a private raised area of garden with a lawn and garden furniture, so that meals can be enjoyed the sunshine. Cars can be parked across the lane or by the village pond if space permits. Visitors are given a free permit for parking in the village car park; this is within a few minutes walk. There is a limited rural bus service available.

A fantastic cottage from which to explore the beautiful Jurassic coast. It was lovely and cool during the summers heat (which the dog appreciated perhaps the most) and I could imagine it being very snug in winter too with the fire going. We loved it.

Charming cottage in a lovely village location close to a pub and tea house. Great for scenic walks. Most suitable for the physically fit as stairs to both the split level garden and upstairs bedrooms & bathroom are challenging.

Fabulous base for walking the coastal paths, and so close to the fabulous Square and Compass. Lovely warm, comfortable and homely cottage to return to, with a wealth of books on the area. Just be aware of the lower three stairs when coming downstairs as they are very tricky.
