This lovely detached house is situated close to the cliff top above Totland Bay on the west side of the Island. There are sea views from the rooms at the front of the house and the lighthouse at Hurst Point can be glimpsed in the distance. The sandy bay of Totland where swimming, paddling, boating and wonderful sunsets can be enjoyed is only a three-minute walk away and the beach has a designated, roped off bathing area for children and more timid swimmers. This is also a marvellous walking area. Chine Cottage is on the coastal path at the top of Widdick Chine and this path extends westward to Tennyson Down and the Needles - a renowned walk with panoramic sea views. There are shopping centres at the nearby town of Freshwater and at Yarmouth; a popular sailing centre with a variety of public houses and restaurants.

Chine Cottage is a substantial property furnished and equipped with care to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation for six people. The rooms are light, spacious and centrally heated. There is a charming entrance hall with a Victorian style feature fireplace and a separate dining room for more formal meals with sea glimpses. A delightful sitting room with comfortable sofas, Victorian style feature fireplace, Smart TV, a large bay window with a window seat, and a French door which opens directly into the enclosed rear garden. The spacious kitchen has sensitive spot lighting, and the floors and walls tiled with superb polished natural stone. There are fitted units with granite style tops, a large range style cooker with a double oven and gas hob, microwave, refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher. In the kitchen there is a feature brick fireplace, now utilised for the storage of wine, plus a utility area with a second sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a also a separate cloakroom here with a WC and basin. French doors open from the kitchen into a sunny conservatory with a sofa and chairs. Further doors open from here on to the patio.

Stairs lead up from the front entrance hall to four charming bedrooms; two double rooms with sea views, plus two single rooms, one of which has a balcony overlooking the garden where visitors may enjoy relaxing. There is also a bathroom with a bath, separate shower cubicle and basin. There is also a separate WC. A wooden cot, high chair, stair gate and push chair can be provided if required.

There is a secluded fenced garden at the rear of the cottage with a patio, fragrant shrubs, flower beds and external lighting. Two steps lead to the lawn - it provides the perfect place for visitors to relax and enjoy a barbecue. At the front of the cottage there is a garden with a lawn and shrubs, plus a parking area for two cars. Steps lead up from the parking area to the front door. Special facilities are available for dogs. There is a restaurant/cafe by the beach within five minutes walk; public house, small general stores and regular bus service are within five minutes walk.

Lounge sofas and chair have seen better days and very uncomfortable to sit on ! Car parking an issue unless you have one medium size car. Two cars would be really difficult unless "bubble" cars ! Beautiful house with everything you could possibly need for a family holiday. Amazing location just a few minutes walk from the very quiet, sandy beach at Totland Bay - we we often had the beach and turquoise sea to ourselves! Waterside bar is a ten minute walk and within half an hour, Colwell Bay one way & Alum bay the other. My husband & I stayed here for a week with my parents, 4 year old, twin one year olds and our dog. The house is so well equipt, we definitely over packed as they had thought of everything. Baby bowls, bath mats for kids, toddler toilet seat & step, buckets and spades for the beach The house is so comfortable with stunning views. We had a lovely stay at chine cottage there was everything there we cud of wanted so homely lovely welcome pack on arrival. My basset hounds loved all the walks near by also our grandchildren felt so at home here lovely memories we will definitely be returning back for more lovely memories from the Sharman family

Very well equipped property in a fantastic location for walks. Lots of comfortable space around the property to relax. Well stocked shop within walking distance but a fabulous 'high street' in Freshwater with all the individual shops you would need. Pity no woodburner but central heating very effective.

Beautiful house, in a perfect location, kept to a high standard. Gorgeous sea views from every bedroom. Within easy reach of Freshwater (try the coasteering), Yarmouth, Colwell (paddleboarding) whilst being in the calmer environs on Totland and with a path to the beach directly below the house. Lovely garden for relaxing at the end of the day. WellRead more-equipped throughout. Owners obviously take the trouble to look at all the finer details. A very enjoyable stay and we hope to return. Chine cottage is an absolutely beautiful place to stay, we had a lovely week there and were blessed with great weather. When you have small children, going somewhere that has such a beautiful garden was invaluable. The boys loved it, and the area was so quiet we all slept really well. The house was in a great location close to the sea and a very good restaurant. There were some excellent walks from the property. The accomodation was very comfortable and had everything we needed in terms of equipment etc, The balcony was an added bonus, All in all perfect for a relaxing break,
