Quiet cottage offering single-storey accommodation for two adult guests, situated close to the village of Corfe Castle in Dorset, and just a short drive from spectacular sandy beaches.

Cherry Tree Cottage is situated in the grounds of a larger property, at the end of a quiet lane between Corfe Castle and the hamlet of Harmans Cross - an ideal location for walking and cycling. It is surrounded by countryside and views of the rolling Purbeck Hills, with picturesque Corfe village and it's iconic castle accessible via a footpath from the property in about thirty minutes. The nearby villages of Worth Matravers and Langton Matravers are also accessible by foot, as is the Jurassic Coast. Nature lovers are a short drive from the RSPB reserve at Arne and those keen to be by the seaside are five minutes drive from the small resort of Swanage, and fifteen minutes from the four mile stretch of sandy beach at Studland.

Cherry Tree Cottage is all on one level and provides attractive and spacious accommodation. The front door opens into a hallway with hanging space for outdoor clothes and a separate cloakroom with WC, basin and heated towel rail. There is a well equipped kitchen with fitted units and worktops, an electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There is also an adjoining utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and further space to store outdoor gear. The open plan living room links to the kitchen and is fully carpeted with two comfortable sofas, one of which can be folded out into a double sofa bed for a third adult. This space is very welcoming and bright with a wood burning stove and windows looking out onto the terrace, driveway and hills beyond. There is also a dining table and chairs positioned by French doors, opening onto a small lawn area with a charming dove cote. A TV with FreeSat and DVD player is provided along with some board games and books.

The double bedroom is carpeted and accessed from the entrance hallway offering guests plenty of storage space with fitted wardrobes, a chest of drawers and a dressing table overlooking the garden. A single folding bed for a child can be made available in the bedroom. A travel cot and high chair can also be provided. There is a tiled en suite with underfloor heating, corner shower cubicle, WC, basin and heated towel rail. WiFi internet is available without charge - it is generally of a good speed, but due to the rural location of the property can be intermittent on occasions.

The cottage has a small walled and gated courtyard with patio furniture and a barbecue so that meals can be enjoyed al fresco. Here, the romantic sight of the local steam engine passing can be enjoyed offering perfect photo opportunities. Accessed through an electric gate, there is a gravelled area with parking for two vehicles immediately outside the cottage and lockable garage space where bikes and canoes can be stored when required. Regular public transport, village store, traditional tea shops and public houses are situated in the nearby picturesque village of Corfe Castle. Local tourist attractions include Putlake Adventure Farm, Monkey World and Kingston Lacy, with Bournemouth town and beach the New Forest and Weymouth all within a pleasant day trip's distance away.

Cherry Tree cottage was in a lovely, peaceful and picturesque setting. Plenty of walks in the area. The owner was very pleasant and and did not intrude on our short break. The inside of the property was spacious and homely. Could not fault the place, and would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage, well-sized, in a beautiful location! Was great seeing the Swanage railway steam trains go by.

Although the cottage is directly attached to the main farm building, you are never disturbed, and we appreciated the peace and quiet of the countryside. The location is perfect for the surrounding area, whether walking or visiting the coast or local places of interest. Overall a very nice relaxing stay.

Outstanding well equipped cottage in a quiet location but so easy to reach many great attractions by car. Walks from the cottage. Bus runs to Weymouth, Lulworth Cove and Swanage four times daily in the summer. Nice and friendly owner but not intrusive. Great!
