Pretty stable conversion property sleeping up to three guests, offering attractive accommodation in the seaside resort of Ventnor, just a short walk the beach and the well-regarded botanic gardens.

Castle Cottage is attractively situated within a pleasant ten-minute stroll of the beach of Ventnor and the quiet cove of Steephill. Ventnor Park is at the rear of the cottage, where paths lead through fragrant gardens to the Esplanade. These gardens also adjoin the Botanical Garden of Ventnor which is renowned for its mild climate and rare plants. The cottage is one of a small collection of cottages that have been converted from what was originally the stables of Steephill Castle - this used to be only a short distance away. A statement clock tower still stands above the cottages.

The cottage has been renovated with great care to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard and is centrally heated. Everything is on one level apart from the unique galleried area which is approached by a staircase leading up from the sitting room. There is a single bed on this mezzanine level with limited privacy due to the open nature of the surrounding railings.

On the ground floor there is a spacious open-plan sitting room with a feature fireplace, attractive sofa and chairs, television with DVD and Sky Plus. There is a pleasant dining area and a modern fitted kitchen equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, refrigerator with ice box and washing machine. The charming double bedroom has French doors which open directly onto the garden and an en-suite shower room with W.C. There is an additional bathroom on the ground floor which has a bath, W.C and basin. A conservatory with attractive Victorian tiles provides a pleasant place to sit and relax. Heating, electricity and BT Infinity Wi-Fi connection is at no extra charge. The cottage has a sunny, south facing walled garden and furniture is provided so that meals can be enjoyed outside. There is a private, gated courtyard at the front of the cottages and a car can be parked beside Castle Cottage. Shops, restaurants a public house and telephone are a 10-minute walk away. A regular bus service is a one- minute walk from the cottage. This links with Shanklin railway station for Ryde ferry and trains to London.

Very atmospheric and quirky self catering accommodation. Excellent proximity to the coastal path and the beautiful 'Ventnor Park'. Good location for access to all roads for venturing the island. Castle Cottage was ideal, a good base and a comfortable place to end the day. Loved it and would book again!

There were so many things I liked about this rather quirky cottage. The central heating could be controlled by thermostat, the skylights bring wonderful light into the space both in the bedroom and the double volume living space. The small south facing sunporch is a lovely area.
