Enjoy panoramic ocean views from this gorgeous open plan beachfront apartment for five, situated in a premier position right on the beach in the southern resort town of Ventnor.

Britannias is superbly situated within just a few steps of the beach on the Esplanade at Ventnor, a famous Victorian health resort on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. It's the perfect location for those who want luxury seafront accommodation and as a base with everything within easy walking distance. Ventnor has a distinctive Mediterranean feel with its mild micro climate and properties set into the hillside on the south side of St Boniface down. It has a particularly beautiful beach, great for swimming, kayaking, fishing or just paddling. Coastal boat and fishing trips can also be enjoyed from the bay.

On the Esplanade itself there are a variety of restaurants, a wine bar and a public house with tables right next to the sea. A few minutes away is Ventnor Haven Fishery where local fishermen sell their fresh fish, lobster and crab on a daily basis which you can take home and eat. Wonderful coastal walks can be enjoyed directly from the property - westwards to the beautiful Steephill Cove, and eastwards the coastal path leads to Bonchurch, Luccombe and onwards to Shanklin and Sandown Bay. A zig-zag path leads up from Ventnor Esplanade to the small town centre with its collection of shops, restaurants, bowling green and botanical gardens. The sandy beach is perfect for children with a lifeguard on duty during the Summer and has won a quality award for water purity. There is also a children's paddling pool a few minutes walk down the Esplanade, where parents can enjoy a drink while letting the children play!

Britannias has wonderful sea views from all of its luxurious main rooms and a delightful ten metre terrace where visitors can kick back and dine alfresco whilst overlooking the sea. Bi-fold doors and windows in the open plan living room can be folded back making the terrace feel part of the room. The living room has a sitting area with a sofa and arm chairs, flat screen television with Sky, a DVD player and Wii. There is also a dining area and a well equipped fitted kitchen with an integrated electric oven and hob, dishwasher and refrigerator (a separate utility room houses the freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer). It also has a microwave and Nespresso machine with starter pods.

There are three well-appointed bedrooms; a double bedroom with sea views and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, basin and WC; a twin bedroom with sea views and an en-suite shower room with built in shower, basin and WC; a spacious single bedroom with side sea view, plus a family bathroom with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. All bathrooms also include complimentary toiletries and Egyptian cotton towels spa towels. A travel cot and high chair can be made available. Unlimited WiFi, central heating and electricity are provided without extra charge. (Visitors with mobility issues should be aware that although the accommodation is all on one level inside, eight steps lead up to the front door).

The south facing terrace is a superb feature of the property - a place for visitors to relax whilst enjoying the sea views. Outdoor seating is provided for alfresco meals in the sunshine, plus an electric retractable awning for shade during hot weather. Free car parking is available on the Esplanade from November to March. Outside of this period, a complimentary parking ticket is provided for one car in the car park - less than a one-minute walk away. A bus service with a ten-minute walk links Ventnor with Newport Shanklin and onwards to most parts of the island, plus easy links via a train service from Shanklin to Ryde with fast hover craft and catamaran services to the mainland and interlinking train services to London. Please note that the premises above Britannias run spa treatments during the afternoon in the spring and summer. Treatments during your stay can be booked through The Cabin at www.thecabin-ventnor.co.uk, however due to popularity we recommend booking in advance of your holiday.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Location, Location, Location...we thoroughly enjoyed our stay over New Year at this lovely apartment. Bright, light, comfortable and spacious with an amazing sea view. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely owner Rowena who provided excellent communication throughout and was on hand if you needed any help, info or details for the onsite HealthRead more and Beauty salon.
