The cottage offers easy access to the small bays and coves on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. Brighstone beach is within a ten-minute drive and the larger sandy beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are within a 20-minute drive. The Bowcombe Valley is a lovely walking area. Footpaths and bridleways can be followed from very close to the cottage to Carisbrooke, Gatcombe, Brighstone and Shorwell and there is easy access to the Tennyson Trail and Shepherds Trail. The nearby bridleways are also ideally suited for off-road mountain biking. A 20-minute walk across nearby downs leads to a good public house for meals.
