An imposing four-bedroom property in the seaside resort of Shanklin. With many great attractions to explore from beautiful beaches to fantastic eateries, this makes the ideal location.

Within easy reach of the centre of the popular seaside town of Shanklin, this extensive Edwardian property contains period features and offers comfortable and welcoming accommodation for eight guests. A fantastic holiday retreat for a group of friends or a large family, this beautiful home has been tastefully decorated and stylishly furnished, and makes a wonderful base for exploring the beaches, resorts and countryside on the eastern side of the Isle of Wight.

After climbing six steps to enter the house, the characterful hallway leads you through to the elegant lounge where you can settle back at the end of a great day and relax with a good book, movie or a game on the PlayStation 3. There's also a cheerful games room with a pool table, ping pong table, piano and an assortment of board games making this a great space for children. The open-plan kitchen/diner is fully equipped and is a pleasure both to cook in and to share a favourite family meal. The impressive staircase leads to the first floor where you will find four light, cosy and relaxing bedrooms: two super king-size, a single, and a triple with three single beds. The beautiful enclosed back garden reached via some steps, has a delightful suntrap patio where you can enjoy a morning coffee or dine alfresco.

The idyllic seaside town of Shanklin sits back against impressive sandstone cliffs, and rests halfway along the glorious Sandown Bay. The town is known for its wonderful long sandy beach, a beautiful wooded chine, the tranquil Rylstone Gardens and the quaint Old Village which offers a range of wonderful restaurants, pubs and independent shops. The popular towns of Ventnor (4.5 miles) and Cowes (14.5 miles) are nearby, with other local attractions including Dinosaur Isle (3 miles), the Amazon World Zoo (3.5 miles), the Isle of Wight Zoo (3 miles) and Osborne House (12.5 miles).

  • 4 bedrooms – 2 super-king-size, 1 triple with 3 single beds and 1 single
  • 1 bathroom and 1 shower room
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine
  • Games room with pool table that can be converted into a ping pong table and piano
  • Electric and central heating included
  • Roadside parking available
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Regret no pets
  • Beach, shop and pub within walking distance
  • TV/DVD and PlayStation 3 in lounge

Wander down the road to discover Shanklin’s sandy beach, less than 500 metres away. Perfect for swimming, sunbathing and water sports, this delectable beach offers everything you need for a hot and sunny day. These golden shores do enforce a dog ban between May and September, but the quiet cove of Luccombe Bay (3 miles) is a nearby spot for canine companions to run free on the sand. Shanklin itself offers a selection of independent shops, a theatre (1 mile) and plenty of eateries to enjoy an evening out. Heading a little further afield, visit the Isle of Wight’s coastal Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (8 miles) and enjoy long walks along the dramatic cliffs. Discover the National Trust spot of St Catherine’s Down and Knowles Farm (9.5 miles), where rolling fields of beautiful flora certainly deserve a visit.

Our house for the week was fabulous. It was well equipped, clean and super comfortable! We felt at home straight away. It was well located- practically on the cliff walk with the beach and town accessible via a short walk. Caroline looked after us very well, even controlling the heating to compensate for the warm days and cool evenings. We loved thRead moree table tennis and pool tables. Great week Great place. Hide

Such a fantastic house, it was perfect for us as a large family along with my dad. Just a few minutes walk down to the seafront or a short walk in to the town. Close to everything, no problems parking on the road, plenty of space and a great base for exploring the rest of the Island. Highly recommended.

We were a group of 6 adults and 2 labradors and there was plenty of room for all of us. The house was well appointed with everything we needed, and the enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs. The house is within easy reach of the Coastal path and a short walk to Shanklin.
