Lanes and footpaths can be followed directly from the property to the sea at Woody Bay which is a ten to fifteen minute walk away. The picturesque seaside resort of Ventnor is within a ten-minute drive and closer still, is the attractive Ventnor Botanical Garden and Steep Hill Cove - a particularly striking sandy cove with a restaurant and tea shop. The sweeping beaches and resorts of Sandown and Shanklin are within a twenty minute drive. Visitors also have easy access to the small coves and breath-taking countryside on the west side of the Island.
Baltija is a detached south facing property set within its own large, private garden. It is one of four properties in a private close in the extensive grounds of an old rectory. It occupies a peaceful and secluded position with no passing traffic. The property has been in the same family for a number of years and has been furnished and equipped with care to provide comfortable accommodation for six people in four bedrooms. The accommodation is all on one level and is centrally heated with fitted carpets and large double glazed windows.
There is an attractive open plan sitting room with picture windows overlooking the garden, sumptuous sofas and chairs, a television with Freeview and DVD player; a relaxing dining area where visitors can enjoy meals; a separate fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A door opens from the kitchen into the garden. The property has two double and two single bedrooms. A travel cot and high chair can be provided if required. There is a bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and W.C, and a separate shower room with a built in shower, basin and W.C. Basins are also provided in both of the double bedrooms. Heating, electricity and WiFi internet are provided without extra charge. A pay telephone is available for incoming calls.
The property has a fenced and gated, secluded garden where visitors can relax and children can play games. (Please be aware that there are water butts and different levels in the garden, so children do need to be closely supervised). Garden furniture is provided so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. Three or four cars can be parked in the drive. Public transport is one mile away, while the post office with village shop is a ten-minute walk, along with the general stores at Ventnor and Niton. Public houses and restaurants are within ten minute's drive. The market town of Newport with its wide range of shops and impressive castle of Carisbrooke is within a 30-minute drive. Nearby attractions to visit include Blackgang Adventure Park and St Catherine's lighthouse.
