Gather your nearest and dearest for a holiday to remember in this stunning cottage. With five bedrooms, a large kitchen and wonderful outside terrace it can accommodate up to ten guests.

Arne Cottage is situated in the heart of the Purbeck countryside, surrounded by the National Trust protected lands of Middlebere and Hartland Moors, and close to the stunning inland estuaries of Poole harbour. It is also a short distance from the RSPB nature reserve at Arne where the BBC's popular 'Autumnwatch' and 'Winterwatch' programmes were based last year. Here, bird lovers can enjoy looking out for Dartford warblers, nightjars and avocets to name just a few. There are a variety of marked walks for visitors to enjoy which lead through the reserve and on to the coast at Shipstal Point. Arne also has a Saxon church, as well as a shop and cafe serving local produce. Nearby places to visit include Corfe village with its iconic castle, teashops and pubs, as well as the sandy beaches at Studland and the quaint coastal resort of Swanage. Shipstal Point in the nature reserve also has a small beach on Poole Harbour - within a 40 minute walk.

Arne Cottage dates back to 1863 and has lattice windows, as well as attractive climbing plants adorning the brickwork. It is a charming semi-detached property offering comfortable accommodation across five bedrooms for ten guests. The focal point of the cottage is the newly equipped, open plan kitchen and dining area - a wonderful bright and airy spot with glass bi-fold doors along one entire wall. These fold back to make the outside terrace feel like part of the room. The superb fitted kitchen has ample workspace and is well equipped with two microwaves, two ovens with grills, an induction hob, full sized fridge, freezer with ice maker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. The dining table accommodates ten guests comfortably. Also on the ground floor is a good sized living room with generous sofa seating for the whole party, positioned around a feature fireplace (we regret that this cannot be used). A Smart TV with DVD player, as well as a variety of games and books are provided for guests enjoyment.

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor; a double bedroom and a twin room overlooking the garden with a chest of drawers. Hanging space is provided in the adjoining hallway which leads to a shower room with shower cubicle, W.C. and basin. There is also a cloakroom with W.C. and basin provided on this level. Stairs lead up to three additional bedrooms, plus a tiled family bathroom with shower cubicle, bath, W.C. and basin. The bedrooms comprise of a triple room with built in wardrobes and chest of drawers, single room with a desk and some drawer storage, and a double bedroom with TV and DVD player, dressing table and storage space. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. Central heating, electricity and WiFi are all provided without extra charge.

Outside, there is an attractive, fenced rear garden which is laid to lawn with shrubs and small trees. This can be accessed through a gate to the side of the property or onto the adjoining terrace via the bi-fold doors of the kitchen. Here, a charcoal BBQ and garden furniture are provided for guests to enjoy dining al fresco. There is in-line parking available for at least three cars on the paved driveway. Regular bus and train services are available from the Saxon walled town of Wareham which is less than a ten minute drive away. Wareham has a good range of pubs, restaurants and shops to try, many of which are focused around the picturesque riverside quay where day boat trips can be taken out to Poole Harbour and beyond. There is a public house at Stoborough - 40 minutes walk away. The popular attractions of Monkey World, the Tank Museum and Lulworth Castle are all less than twenty minutes drive away.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £200 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

We had a lovely time, the location was perfect for walking and the variation of actives, the cottage was beautiful and the dynamics of the layout was spot on for our group. The kitchen was the real focal point to cook and sit around and chat, the ovens were a really good size and the kitchen was very practically laid out! The cottage was very cleanRead more. Hide

Fabulous location . Nice house needs a few maintenance jobs . If you are booking wanting to use the open fire...especially at Christmas....this will not be possible! This is not stated in the description and an open fire with guard etc is clearly shown on property photos!

Lovely big kitchen/diner. We were a group of 6 friends and the house worked brilliantly for us. The house really is in the middle of nowhere so its lovely and quiet. Everything was clean and comfortable.

Good location, plenty of off street parking, great garden for alfresco meals. The cottage delivers on all levels.

Useful little extras included. Shame towels aren't. A lovely garden. Good cottage. Liked the fact that 2 of the bedrooms were away from the others, like having as separate wing in the house.
