Situated on the west coast of the Isle of Wight, take in spectacular scenery from this attractive, open-plan cottage. The Needles and two quiet, sandy beaches are within a short walk.

Apple House is situated on the west side of the island within a ten-minute walk of the beach at Colwell Bay. Here, swimming paddling, fishing and boating can be enjoyed. Totland Bay is also within easy walking distance. The coastal path from this area can be followed westward to Alum Bay, Tennyson Down and The Needles - a wonderful walking area with panoramic sea views. The centre of Freshwater is also within a ten-minute walk and here, there are a variety of shops, small supermarkets, a sports centre with swimming pool and a golf club beautifully situated on the downs above Freshwater Bay. A great public house in the old part of Freshwater serves delicious meals and from here, you can enjoy a scenic walk beside the River Yar to Yarmouth; an attractive coastal town and sailing centre, with boutique style shops and some fine restaurants.

Apple House is a semi-detached property in a quiet close on the outskirts of Freshwater - only a short walk from the beach and shops. This house has recently been renovated to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation of a high standard which is centrally heated and double glazed.

The ground floor is spacious and completely open plan with a sitting room offering a comfortable sofa, armchairs, a flat screen television with Freeview, DVD player and a flame effect coal fire; a pleasant dining area with a circular table and French doors opening onto a patio; a well equipped kitchen with an electric double oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Stairs ascend to two light and airy bedrooms with flat screen televisions with Freeview and DVD players. There is one double bedroom with a super king-size bed and a large window from which there are views of Tennyson Down beyond the roof tops of the town, and a twin room with a dormer window overlooking the garden. There is also a bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, heated towel rail, basin and W.C. A folding bed, only suitable for a child, is available for an additional charge of £35. A travel cot, and a high chair can be provided if required. Heating and electricity are without extra charge. Wi-Fi internet is available - unlimited.

Apple House offers a secluded, fenced and gated rear garden. There is a patio area with garden furniture and a parasol so that meals can be enjoyed outside. Five steps lead up an area of lawn where visitors can relax. Please be aware that there is an unfenced drop between the lawn and patio. Children do therefore need to be closely supervised in the garden. One car can be parked under the car port and there is space for an additional car in the drive. Bikes and beach equipment can be stored under the car port or in the shed at the top of the garden. There is a regular bus within five minutes walk, with easy connections to most routes. Nearby places to visit include Alum Bay The Needles Victoria Park and the National Nature Reserve at Newtown; a wonderful spot for viewing birds and butterflies.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

I would highly recommend this property, one of the best we have stayed at. It has been well thought out with everything you could need. It was very clean and comfortable. Location was good, quit area and easy access to shops, beach and other activities. If we ever visit the Isle of Wight again we will defiantly be stopping here.

A thoroughly clean and comfortable house - home from home - which was well equipped and well placed for shops and good walking country.

Fantastic property for a small family wanting to visit any part of the Isle of wight as it was no more than 45 minutes drive from anywhere. Great location that was just a 5 minutes walk from the sea front and included everything we needed for a week long stay. Also within walking distance of high street which had Sainsbury's and Boot's plus lots ofRead more other individual stores in case you forgot to bring anything. Would return without hesitation. Hide

About the best accommodation we've stayed in and we've visited 7 this year. (Sold our house and looking for a new home, somewhere) Comfy, clean, quiet, very well equipped, well located for shops and beach, hiking, etc. A lot of attention been paid to detail.

We arrived at a spotless, well-equipped house, which had clearly been thoughtfully and carefully prepared for our stay. In particular, all essential items and many not quite so, were provided and the welcome pack was very generous. Fully deserving of its recently awarded gold award.

Apple Cottage was a lovely place to stay. The location was great - quiet but close to very nice places to visit and also shops. The cottage itself was very well equipped, beautifully clean and had a lovely homely feel. We hope to stay again!

Very clean, warm and comfortable accommodation. Amazed to find Christmas decorations had been put up for us(including Christmas loo paper!). Thrilled with the welcome basket of wine, biscuits, apple juice and marmalade. We brought more provisions than we needed - had not been told that coffee, tea, etc would be there.

Our 1st visit to the IOW and we were not disappointed. The cottage was exceptional, both immaculately clean with everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed walking the coastal paths so the location was perfect on a very quiet estate. Island bus service is also very good.

A very clean & well equipped cottage. I would recommend Apple House to my friends if they wanted a quiet break. Only one fault i could name, being on the west side of the island you need to travel over to the east for most of the attractions.
