A chocolate box cottage set within the owner’s tranquil private grounds and enveloped by rolling pastures. This romantic hideaway is perfect for couples seeking a blissfully rural escape on the Isle of Wight. Step back in time with a stroll beneath the imposing turrets of Carisbrook Castle (400 metres), before popping a celebratory bottle of fizz on the lawn with an unbeatable countryside backdrop.

This inviting property is the epitome of country charm. Picture exposed brickwork, antique-style furniture, and warm earthy tones. Ease off outdoor shoes at the door then be lulled inside. Rustle up an indulgent dinner spread in the traditional shaker kitchen, complete with a Belfast sink. Padding into the lounge, fold out the dining set in the lounge, and feast in the glow of the window. Curl up on the plump leather sofa with something sweet and unwind in the ambient warmth of the crackling wood burner. Nestled at the end of the room is an elegant wrought-iron double bed with romantic drapes. Bask in balmy mornings perched on the patio surrounded by shrubs. Stepping up to the garden, break a sweat in the wood-panelled gym, lounge on the wicker loveseat, or drink in the views from the sun loungers.

Enjoy a saunter through the light-dappled trails of Parkhurst Forest (2.5 miles) then peruse the selection of exhibitions and live music performances at the Quay Arts Centre (2 miles). Other than the above it was a good holiday and very relaxing. The steps down to the property might be a problem for some but we found them gentle if taken slowly. A handrail might be a consideration. The location was handy for a pub, restaurant and shop. We would have liked to sample local walks but too wet most days to venture far. All in all goodRead more value. Hide

The cottage is a great place to stay. I stayed there during the IoW Festival in June 2025 and even though it was really quite warm outside, the cottage was cool on the inside. I would say that it is compact and not suitable for more than two people, but it is well-equipped and located very near Carisbrooke Castle. Lovely place with everything you need. Cosy and nicely presented - modern and rustic at the same time. Absolutely loved it - lovely cottage in lovely location - satisfied our requirements perfectly. Cosy and welcoming. It has wood burning stove but even in winter we didnt need it. Information I given on website was clear and accurate. It is small but designed to make maximum use of that space. Well definitely be returning

Really enjoyed our stay at Little Clatterford, hosts are on hand if you need them but equally leave you to it, very friendly couple. Location is great, right by the Castle which is worth exploring. Cottage itself is compact but fully equipped, clean, tidy and cosy. Already planning our return to the island and to Little Clatterford.
