With spectacular coastal and rural views, this delightful converted stable enjoys a beautifully secluded elevated location just a mile from the heart of the popular seaside town of Swanage. Set on the owner’s smallholding – reached via a single-track farm lane – this cosy hideaway makes a delightful getaway for a couple seeking a tranquil holiday base in fantastic surroundings. With the stunning beaches of Swanage Bay and Durlston Bay within a mile, the cottage is also perfect for exploring Durlston Country Park which is a short walk away (0.5 miles). 

Two steps takes you up onto the terraces which lead you into this pretty single-level holiday home. Entering via the French doors you will find a cosy, inviting and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The attractive and tastefully decorated lounge is cosily furnished and makes an ideal space to relax in, with a Smart TV, flame effect electric fire and plenty of seating. You can enjoy a romantic meal for two in the dining area which looks out onto the magnificent rural landscape, and the stylish kitchen is perfect for preparing your favourite meals. Exploring further, there’s a charming double bedroom with sea views, a vaulted ceiling and an en-suite shower room. A washing machine and freezer are available in a small barn nearby. Stepping out onto the terrace there’s a seating area for you to enjoy a BBQ or a morning coffee while admiring the views over Durlston Bay. The smallholding is also home to the owner’s livestock, including donkeys.

Swanage features a host of fantastic restaurants, pubs and shops and is close to the historic village of Studland (4 miles) which is home to a beautiful beach and nature reserve. You can also catch a ferry to Brownsea Island (7 miles) or head inland to Corfe Castle (6.5 miles) and The Blue Pool (9 miles).

This is an exceptional property, stunning views, so quiet. Great owners, leave you to yourselves, but there if you need them. The property has everything that you need. High standard of cleanliness and the decoration and furnishings are beautiful and restful. Lovely outside space to sit, lay or BBQ. We have been three times and just booked again. A Very warm welcome after a very long journey, fairy lights leading the way to our delightful cottage with Christmas tree on the terrace a lovely Christmas welcome pack and display. What a gem !!! Our only regret is that we only booked one week, but that will be rectified when we return. Very clean, extremely comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. Sue and Chris lovely hosts. Views amazing, very peaceful. Cannot wait to return.

This week's holiday at Zig Zag was not long enough. We didn't want to come home. It was so lovely, peaceful, so comfortable and the view is wonderful. We felt calm and chilled the moment we arrived. The cottage has absolutely everything that you could need. The bed is very comfortable, we slept so well. This is a magical place to stay. The donkeys Read moreare adorable and came to the gate everyday for carrots. The walk to the High Street and to the beach took about 25 mins. The pub about 15 minutes. Hide

Absolutely beautiful location with direct views out to sea. Really feels you are out in the countryside but actually only a short walk down the hill into Swanage. We visited in April and it was very tranquil with not a sound from the town. Could only hear the birds in the surrounding countryside and occasional walkers heading to the nearby coastal Read morepath. Lovely spotless cottage to relax and unwind. Hide

This was our second 2 week stay at ZigZag and we enjoyed it just as much as the first. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, the living area is bright and comfortable, the views are fab, the garden is lovely and private with decent sun beds and cushions (other cottage owners take note, when on holiday it is nice to be able to sunbathe even in thRead moree UK).
