  • A delightful rural hideaway in an RSPB Nature Reserve a fantastic base for walkers and nature lovers
  • Easy access to the Jurassic Coast and South West Coast Path
  • Close to Wareham, Studland and Swanage, ideal for visiting Corfe Castle
Property code: DC188

Situated on the edge of a popular nature reserve, this spacious property is full of character and makes a lovely holiday home for a family or group keen to explore the countryside near Poole Harbour.

You and your family or friends can escape modern stresses in this magnificent country house, set within strides of the sublime RSPB Arne Nature Reserve. With ancient oak woodlands, heaths, reed beds and reptile habitats, it’s a paradise for wildlife lovers, photographers and artists. The tranquil oasis of Hartland Moor, Stoborough Heath’s woods and wetlands and the ancient market town of Wareham are all within 4 miles. Corfe Castle (5.5 miles) is iconic, quaint and picture-perfect, with breathtaking views across Purbeck from the ruins.

Inside this former pottery studio, you’ll find a spacious and vibrant interior exuding charm, character and style. In the grand, galleried lounge, unwind on luxuriant sofas around a glowing wood burner; reminisce with wine on wild Dorset days, and plan tomorrow’s adventures. The second lounge is a perfect space for more intimate moments. Fashion feasts of fine local fare in the ceramic-floored kitchen/diner with its glorious storage dresser, and spill out onto the patio for al fresco festivities. Seek sanctuary in the three bathrooms, two of them on the ground floor. Five fabulous bedrooms will soon be calling; a spacious ground-floor bunk room with steps up to the gallery, and a twin; upstairs, there are two triple bedrooms with single beds, and a double. Outside, relax on the fenced (but not child-proof) lawns and spot deer that sometimes come to visit.

Catch a ferry from Studland to Poole (both 14 miles) or beautiful Brownsea Island, or explore Durlston Country Park and exquisite Lulworth Cove (both 12 miles). Find sumptuous white sands at Studland’s Shell Bay (14 miles), silver chalk-cliffed splendour at Swanage (12 miles) and glorious golden beaches at Sandbanks (17.5 miles), with its superb pubs and restaurants. Ride the Jurassic Coast on the Sea Train Adventure from Poole. Dazzling memories await.

We all loved this spacious, quirky house in its tranquil and privileged situation. The children had ample playing space, and everyone enjoyed the walks in the RSPB reserve. We were all sad to leave,

We had a family week at Arne Studio. It exceeded our expectations. The location is particularly good for nature walks, birdwatching, chilling out, and just having a good holiday. Thanks!

Would highly recommend this property - we went away with 9 adults and 2 dogs and it was the perfect set up. Great location for walks, a lovely garden (which we thankfully got to use as the weather was glorious), a great kitchen space and a very comfy lounge. A highlight of the weekend was the croquet - we had so much fun!

Amazing location right in the RSPB Arne reserve. Lovely evening walks seeing the deer and birdwatching. So peaceful. Wareham is a lovely town- recommend the Saturday market in the quay, the craft collective and the amazing hardware shop/ ironmongers! Do go to 29029 Indian and Nepalese restaurant just outside Wareham - fantastic food.

A really lovely house in a beautiful location. It suited 8 of us very nicely and we had a wonderful week The house is quite quirky and interesting but could do with some tlc. The information given on the website mentions that two of the bedrooms upstairs have a connecting door. It should also state that one of those bedrooms can only be accessed byRead more going through the other bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped but the fridge is very small considering the property can accommodate up to 13. Hide

We absolutely loved it, amazing location and the house was really comfortable and spacious. Looking at previous reviews, there were a few marks on the carpet but it was very clean and with children and dog it was a relief and more homely! Brilliant place! Well be back.
