This beautiful modern apartment is in the eaves of a Victorian Villa and has far reaching views of the sea, and even the Isle of Wight can be spotted on a clear day.

Set at the top of a large Victorian villa, this cosy and spacious second-floor apartment is perfect for a family looking to discover the popular seaside town of Swanage. Located on the hill leading from the town to Durlston Country Park (1 mile away), the property offers far-reaching sea views and makes a fantastic holiday base for exploring the Purbeck area of Dorset.

Eight steps lead you into the shared hall, and the apartment is accessed via four flights of stairs. On entering this single-level getaway you will find yourself in the stylishly designed and attractively furnished open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which has views over the town and toward Swanage Bay. With plenty of seating, TV and an iPod dock, the lounge is a perfect space for relaxing in at the end of a great day. You can enjoy a favourite meal in the charming dining area, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need. You will also find two comfortable bedrooms: a double and a twin, as well as a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The bustling seaside town of Swanage has a host of great places to eat and drink, as well as a long sandy beach, a traditional promenade and a Victorian-era pier. Local attractions include Peveril Point, Durlston Bay and the Prince Albert Gardens (all within half a mile) as well as Ballard Down (2 miles) and Old Harry Rocks (4 miles). There are thriving towns nearby including Wareham (11.5 miles) and Corfe Castle (6 miles), or you could explore the nature reserves of Hartland Moor (8.5 miles) and Studland and Godlingston Heath (5 miles). Heading west along the coast you can visit Kimmeridge Bay (11.5 miles) and Chapman’s Pool (6 miles), or you could head north to explore the beautiful Brownsea Island (7 miles).

This is a perfect location for the local town and has great views of the sea. The hill going back from the beach is really steep - great exercise! The accommodation is well equipped and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The sofa, unfortunately, isnt very comfortable. Swanage is well placed for local attractions.

A wonderful holiday in Swanage at Puffin lookout, a beautifully located spacious apartment with everything you could need. Fantastic views of the bay. The stairs were not an issue, nor was the steep hill up to apartment and my husband is less than a year into new knee and has arthritis, so don't let this put you off. I would definitely stay again. Swanage is a lovely town with lots of shops, restaurants and pubs and a beach. The apartment itself was greatly located, nicely decorated, beds were comfortable and a private parking space which was essential. This flat is a great base in Swanage, just a 5 min walk from all the shops, restaurants and the beach. It's pretty much all uphill and quite steep to get back. Very nicely appointed flat and a good location in a quiet area (though it was the end of September). Only two of us there, so plenty of room but I think it would also be great for a young family.

Stunning apartment, much more spacious than expected and done to a high standard. The only minor negative was the sofa which was uncomfortable and the wifi wasnt great, not a huge issue at all. Beautiful views and the hill Is nothing even with a bad back its a short climb.

Really nice apartment in a great location for Swanage and all its amenities. There is a hill from the town centre and then stairs to the apartment but its a 5 minute walk and didn't bother us in the least. The views from the apartment are well worth it. The apartment is situated in a very nice area of swanage and for us was the perfect location, 7 minutes downhill to the centre/beach and 10 minutes uphill to the country park. Apartment was very clean and master bedroom felt spacious. Relaxing at night in front of the TV was not a viable option, so we stayed out as late as we could. I must say the apartment is lovely and the owner really has paid attention to detail. With books, games and dvds there was plenty for the children. The kitchen was very well equipped and I was able to do all my washing and ironing before we went home! The views were amazing, we very much enjoyed our stay. Lovely clean and well equipped apartment, more spacious that we were expecting and the views were beautiful. Previous reviews mention the hill which was steep but no more so than is usual when staying in UK seaside resorts. Unfortunately the sofa is very uncomfortable which would put us off staying again.

Really lovely apartment with very high spec. Plenty of kitchen equipment to cook. Bathroom is a good space could benefit from a second small side shower to swish down bath. Small dishwasher would be a bonus. These are very minor points. Overall a lovely peaceful stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Puffin Lookout. The apartment is very well equipped and in a great location. We loved the sea views and my son loved spotting ships (even binoculars are provided!). We hope to return one day.

A lovely modern apartment on the second floor with a view of the sea and bay. Not for anyone who has issues with stairs. It is well appointed and an attractive place to stay.

The location is great - although be warned the hill up to the property is really very steep. Having a parking space was added bonus and the views were glorious.
