Set on the edge of Langton Matravers in glorious South Dorset countryside, this sweet cottage is perfect for exploring the Jurassic Coast and this quintessential corner of English coast. Discover the independent shops, pubs, pier, steam railway, galleries, seafront and eateries of Swanage (1.5 miles). Encounter rare wildlife at the exquisite Studland and Godlingston Heath Nature Reserve (4 miles), bask on Knoll and South Beach (5 miles), or catch a ferry across to Sandbanks (23 miles by road). Langton Matravers (0.5 miles) has a lovely pub and a brilliant ‘Dinosaur Footprints’ walk along the Priests Way, which connects the village with Swanage. Walk from Durlston Country Park (3 miles) to nearby Anvil Lighthouse, for dramatic vistas and breathtaking sea views.

RSPB Arne Nature Reserve (9.5 miles) is one of England’s finest wild habitats; its heaths, wetlands and ancient woods are home to all six British reptile species, and countless other rare and colourful creatures. Hartland Moor and Stoborough Heath Nature Reserves (6.5/8 miles) offer more magical scenery, serenity and secret wonders. Discover picturesque Wareham (10 miles), and travel the Jurassic Coast on the Sea Train Adventure, by land and sea from Swanage to Poole (18.5 miles). We received a warm and friendly welcome from Ann, David and Daisy the dog which was very much appreciated. This was our first stay at Little Mayflower and it did not disappoint. It was very clean and cosy and just perfect for the two of us and Rosie the dog. Ideally situated within so many beautiful beaches and villages, we spent a lot of time out Read moreand about despite the weather. The owners made us feel very welcome and the cottage is cosy, clean and comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Excellent accommodation which was well equipped . It was situated in a quiet area with easy access to Swanage,Corfe castle and wareham. On a good bus route so did not always need the car. The owners were friendly but not intrusive and were very helpful when needed. Clean and comfortable.

The cottage was lovely, well equipped and comfortable, the owners Anne and David were very nice and helpful recommending places to see and eat. We didnt use our car at all as the bus service was excellent. Mustnt forget Daisy the dog who was always ready to give us a big welcome when she saw us, she is lovely.

We had a lovely week at Little Mayflower. Only used the car once as had a very good bus service running between Swanage & Poole a couple of minutes from the doorstep. Excellent area if you like walking. We walked out to Dancing ledge, along the coast to Swanage & then caught the bus back. The cottage was very comfortable & had everything we needed Read more& Anne & David were never far away if you needed help or information. Will definitely return as could not do all the things we wanted to in a week. Hide

Lovely cottage, had everything we required and perfectly situated for exploring the local area. Anne and Dave were friendly and very welcoming. There is a regular local bus service to Swanage about 2 mins from the cottage which we made use of. The Tank museum at Bovington is well worth a visit as is Compton Acres. Our hosts who live on site are very friendly and we had a number of chats regarding our shared interests. The location is very good and you can avoid the Swanage traffic. There is a regular bus service which goes by the property from Swanage to Poole and Bournemouth calling in at Corfe en route. The garden is enclosed and safe for dogs. Really lovely property and owners make you feel very welcome without being intrusive. Lovely walks from the property and there is an hourly bus service to Swanage and Poole with a bus stop 2 minutes walk away.
