Stone Place Cottage is located in the small, rural village of Shorwell on the south west of the island, which is only a three-mile drive from the shingle beaches of Brighstone. Shorwell village is just a 5 minute walk away from the cottage and benefits from a traditional old public house with a stream. The village is ideally located for walkers and cyclists with its rolling countryside and many footpaths and trails to explore. The market town of Newport, often considered the capital of the island, and the medieval castle of Carisbrooke, are within five and a half miles. There is a playground in the village of Shorwell for young children and also a playing field. There is a regular bus service and village shop within five minutes.
The traditional cottage stands proud with its stone-built structure and large wooden door. It has retained original character features such as exposed beams. Stone Place Cottage offers comfortable accommodation for four people in two bedrooms and it is furnished in an old-world country style. On the ground floor there is a cosy lounge . After a long day of exploring, curl up on the comfy sofa, light the fire and pop on your favourite movie. There is also a small dining area in the lounge, making this a great place to enjoy breakfast or a light lunch. The kitchen continues with the country feel and is equipped with an electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. The dining room has a solid wood table and chairs, enough to seat four people and makes a great room for a relaxed dinner. The bathroom with shower over the bath and WC can also be found on the ground floor. Up the open stairs, there are two bedrooms; one four-poster bedroom and one twin bedroom.
The cottage has an enclosed back garden which is laid to lawn with mature shrubs and trees and benefits from garden furniture. Enjoying an alfresco dinner is a must! There is off-road parking for one car opposite the cottage.
