This pretty thatched cottage stands, close to the centre of the small rural village of Whitwell, only two miles from the south coast. Here there are the quiet coves of St Lawrence and within 10 minutes drive is the small seaside resort of Ventnor. Ventnor and St Lawrence are renowed for their mild climate and beautiful botantical gardens. The larger sandy beaches of Shanklin and Sandown are within a 15 minute drive

The Old Cottage is a wonderful 18th Century, Grade 2* listed property. It is beautifully situated overlooking the sea, in ‘ An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', on the south coast of Island. A quiet cove, where visitors can paddle and swim, is within a 15 minute walk of the cottage. St Lawrence is renowned for its mild climate and in the nearby Botanical Garden many rare and tropical trees and plants are grown.

This lovely Edwardian property is situated on the outer edge of Wootton, less than a mile from the coast and only a short drive from the sandy beaches of Ryde. There are wonderful open views across the gardens and nearby fields to the sea, and the Hampshire coastline can be seen in the distance. This is a good walking and cycling area with country lanes leading to the coast and visitors can join a nearby cycle track linking the market town of Newport and the famous coastal sailing town of Cowes. Within 3 minutes of Shanklin's sandy beach - ideal for paddling and swimming. It is only a 2 minute walk from the lodge to the cliff path for beautiful views across Sandown Bay to the white cliff of Culver. Shanklin is a pleasant small resort on the south east coast of the Island with its own small theatre and a variety of interesting shops and restaurants. The Old Village of Shanklin has pretty thatched cottages, tea shops and public houses plus a beautiful chine, floodlit in the evening.
