Worth Matravers is a beautiful rural village on the southern part of Purbeck. The village has views of the sea and footpaths run down to the attractive bay of Windspit and the coastal path. The heart of the village is a traditional Dorset setting with stone built cottages clustering around a village green and a duck pond.
The village retains a traditional village pub which is slightly back from the village. There are traditional games and folk music in the evenings but it is best known as a great place to chat about the days work or the days fun. A small museum is attached to the pub which displays localy collected fossils and articfacts.

Walk Around Worth Matravers - The pretty little village has a number of places to visit. The duck pond with it's collection of well pampered ducks is a lovely place to sit and relax. Nearby is the historic church which is also well worth a visit. The rest of the village is made up of small stone cottages which in summer have flowers and creepers decorating their fronts.
Winspit Bay - The coastal area of Winspit which is just below Worth Matravers is only a short walk away and here you can enjoy the sea, relax on the shelves of rock which run down to the sea and visit the little caves which have a population of rare Dorset bats.
Dancing Ledge - The bay at Dancing Ledge is one of the main features along the Jurassic Coast and is a pleasent walk from the centre of Langton. Dancing Ledge is an attractive series of shelves of rock going down to the sea. On the lowest ledge there is a swimming pool which has been blown out of the solid rock and which is refreshed with water at every tide. Dancing ledge is popular with those walking the coastal path, climbers and those wishing to just experience this wonderous place. To get to Dancing Ledge you must first walk to Winspit and then follow the coastal path in the direction of Swanage and keep the sea on your right. After about 25 to 30 minutes you will see a path down to Dancing Ledge on your right.
