The Cart House is very attractively situated on the 3000 acre Trigon Estate. It is one of three cottages in a small peaceful hamlet in a delightful rural area with walks directly from the house. Two golf courses and the RSPB site at Arne within 5 minutes drive. Sandy beach of the small resort of Swanage is within 10 miles. This property has, as its name suggests, been converted from the original cart house for the Trigon estate and it dates back to 1850. It is built with an attractive combination of brick and wood with lovely large windows. The Cart House has delightful gardens of almost an acre.

It is ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ‘ and has World Heritage status. It is a magnificent walking and cycling area. Footpaths can be followed almost directly from the cottage to join the coastal path which leads westwards to Chapman’s Pool and the small bays and villages of Kimmeridge and Lulworth or eastwards to the seaside resort of Swanage where there is a large sandy beach which gently slopes into the water. Here visitors can enjoy swimming, paddling, boating, fishing and diving or a ride on the steam train to the nearly picturesque and historic village of Corfe Castle.

On the ground floor there is a lovely open plan fitted kitchen with a ‘Provence style’ tiled floor, electric double oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator; a delightful central dining area where meals can be enjoyed; a utility area with a washer dryer, second refrigerator and freezer; a charming country house style sitting room with large sofas, a wood burning stove, flat screen television/DVD/Freesat; two large shower rooms with built in showers, basins and w.c.’s; a wonderful spacious master bedroom with a king size double bed, a superb oak floor, a vaulted ceiling with beams and floor to ceiling windows. The added addition of a sofa, wood burning stove and television makes this another very attractive and cosy place to relax. Worth Cottage has a delightful garden of almost an acre, with a large lawn, attractive shrubberies, a barbecue area and a large terrace adjacent to the cottage with garden furniture. The garden is on two levels and is walled and gated. There is also a walled courtyard on the far side of the cottage with a gate providing a second access to the lane. Within a two minute walk visitors can enjoy cream teas and meals at the small restaurant overlooking the green or indulge in local ciders and pasties at the renowned Square & Compass - a public house with beautiful sea views from its gardens. Two/three cars can be parked in the cottage drive and there is a limited rural bus service. Corfe Castle and Swanage are within a 10 minute drive.
For Christmas there are decorations and a christmas tree provided.
Worth Cottage is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Worth Cottage. Worth Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. Worth Matravers is a pretty rural village within a short walk of the sea on the Southern side of Purbeck in Dorset. This charming and traditional village boasts a village duck pond, a historic church, attractive stone cottages and a renowned local public house (Square and Compass Public House) which has a calendar of traditional village activities including stone carving and pumpkin growing.
The coastline below Worth Matravers is well known for the dramatic landscape and abundance of wildlife. It is a popular spot with walkers who stop off while walking along the coastal path and some take the time to have a swim.
It's for anyone who likes to live life adventurously - you don’t have to be a seasoned explorer to enjoy a Go Ape experience! Go Ape offers up to three hours of tree top fun. It’s a great way to get outdoors and have some fun. The Moors Valley GoApe Country Park is within a 40min drive of Purbeck and is a great day out for the whole family. goape.co.uk
The Isle of Purbeck is a peninsular of land located in the South of Dorset and is famous for its sandy beaches, beautiful countryside and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site. The sea surrounds Purbeck on three sides and nowhere is for from the coast. Apart from the small town of Swanage, the Isle of Purbeck is made up of small rural hamlets and traditional villages.
The North side of Purbeck is dominated by a wooded and heathland nature reserve and where it meets the water of Poole Harbour it attracts a great deal of bird life. The East coast of Purbeck is known for the two long sandy beaches at Studland and Swanage but also for the limestone pillars at Old Harry's Rocks. Along the South Coast is the start of the Jurassic Coast which is characterised by impressive coastal formations like Dancing Ledge and Durdle Door but also for quiet coves and peaceful beaches for swimming.
Much of Purbeck has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the vast majority of Purbeck remains in the hands of nature. This is ideal for walkers and cyclists who are free to explore large areas of countryside and take in a number of wondrous locations.

Worth Cottage is within a short walk of Winspit on the Jurassic Coast where it is possible to swim in the bay, explore the rocky outcrops, view the rock stacks, see the caves and hand cut quarry and explore this section of the coastal path.
