Seafield stands in a superb hill top position and enjoys spectacular coastal views from all the main rooms in the property. The panoramic views extend across countryside to the nearby bay of Studland. Visitors can relax and enjoy an ever changing scene with flotillas of small sailing boats, fishing boats and larger ships. The golden sands of the peninsular extend into the distance and the beautiful harbour of Poole with its small islands, including Brownsea, can be seen, with glimpses of the coastline of Bournemouth in the distance. Seafield is one of a small group of individually designed houses occupying a wonderful position on the lower slopes of Ballard Down. This is ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and most of the coastline is under the protection of the National Trust. Studland beach extends for over two miles and has golden sands gently sloping into the water, making it ideal for paddling, swimming and boating. Seafield is within ¾ mile of the beach which can easily be accessed along paths and lanes. There are also footpaths which can be followed directly from the property for wonderful walks on the downs leading to the picturesque village of Corfe Castle and the small seaside resort of Swanage. A shorter 15 minute walk leads to the cliff top from where the dramatic white chalk stacks of Old Harry can be clearly seen.
Seafield is a wonderful property occupying the entire ground floor of the owners’ magnificent detached house. It is completely self contained with its own private entrance. This peaceful property is centrally heated and has been furnished and equipped with care to provide very attractive and comfortable accommodation for six people. There are three spacious bedrooms, all of which enjoy wonderful sea views – one double, one twin and one bunk bedroom, all with fitted wardrobes; an open plan living room with large picture windows which frame the view of the coast furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs, television/DVD, with a French door opening into the garden; a lovely dining area by a window; a fully fitted kitchen equipped with electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. There is also a beautifully equipped bathroom with a bath, hand shower, and basin and a similarly well equipped shower room with a built in shower, basin and W.C. In addition the property has a lovely large games rooms equipped with a small snooker table, table tennis, table football and a variety of board games. A folding bed and travel cot/high chair can be provided if required. A fold away king size bed is also available. Heating and electricity without extra charge.
At the front of Seafield there is an extensive lawned garden available for visitors sole use. This area is enclosed and there is garden furniture provided so that meals can be enjoyed outside. Parking for 2/3 cars. Access to the property is along a gravel lane. Visitors can take a pleasant 20 minute stroll directly into the village of Studland where there is a village shop, a public house for meals and also a small hotel with a restaurant which is good for cream teas. Within a 10 minute drive visitors can visit the small seaside resort of Swanage and the wonderful medieval castle of Corfe. A very enjoyable steam train ride can be taken from Corfe Castle to Swanage. Purbeck is a very beautiful area with rolling hills extending to the sea. It is an area full of wild life and the nearby areas of Brownsea, Arne and Durleston are renowned for bird watching. Golf, fishing and horse riding are all available locally and it is from the outer reaches of Studland that the South West Coastal Path commences on its 630 mile journey to Minehead.
