Sea Cottage is beautifully situated on the lovely sandy peninsular of Studland in ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. This is one of the most charming and unspoilt areas of coastline in the country – much of it protected by the National Trust. Sea Cottage is situated on a very quiet lane which leads to the heath and has wonderful open views across the heath to the sea with the beautiful harbour of Poole and Brownsea Island. Sea Cottage is within a pleasant 20 minute walk of the wonderful beach of Studland where the sand gently slopes into the water - ideal for swimming, paddling and boating. Studland Beach offers over 2 miles of sand and forms part of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. The South West Coast Path runs along this beach. Within a 10 minute drive of the house there is the small seaside resort of Swanage where there are a variety of small shops and restaurants plus entertainments. Also nearby is the pretty inland village of Corfe Castle with its thatched cottages and renowned castle. A very enjoyable steam train ride can be taken from Corfe Castle to Swanage.
Sea Cottage is a detached house which has been owned by the same family for many years and is very much a family home. It is frequently occupied by families and children - sandy feet are welcome - but the house is well suited to anyone who is looking for a peaceful, spacious house in the unspoiled National Trust village of Studland. It is furnished with family comfort in mind – all the necessities but no frills. If you are looking for a modern and up-to-the-minute house, then perhaps Sea Cottage is not for you. However, if you enjoy total quiet, beautiful views and wildlife, as many visitors to this house do, then you will surely find these and much more in this glorious location. On the ground floor of the house there is a modern fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine plus a small central table for breakfast; a w.c with basin; a large sitting room with comfortable sofas and chairs, a television and DVD player. Here visitors can relax in front of a real open fire. Double doors open from the sitting room into a separate dining room and another door opens into a conservatory with a table, chairs and sofa. Access to the lovely garden in via the conservatory. Stairs lead up to 4 bedrooms – two twin rooms (the beds in these rooms can be placed together or used separately), one single room and a twin room with 2ft 6ins beds suitable for children. The larger bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. All of the bedrooms either have views over the lovely garden or enjoy views across the heath to the sea. There are two very well equipped bathrooms – both of these have a bath, overhead shower, basin and w.c. The house is heated with storage heaters with additional electric heaters being available. All heating and electricity without extra charge. Bed linen and towels can be provided for a small extra charge.
The lovely fenced and secluded garden at the rear of the house is one of the wonderful features of the property. Here there is a patio and a large lawn where visitors can relax and children can play games. Garden seats and a barbecue are provided. Two/three cars can be parked in the drive and there is undercover space for a small boat. The lane to the house is unadopted and rather bumpy. A small general stores is within a 10 – 15 minute walk and a public house and restaurant within a 20 minute walk. The Isle of Purbeck Golf Course is a very short distance away and the RSPB Reserve at Arne is also close by.
