Corfe Castle is at the centre of a wonderful walking area with footpaths across the downs leading eastward to Studland, or westward to the pretty villages of Church Knowle, Kimmeridge and Lulworth. The Jurassic coast starts in Purbeck and there are dramatic coastal walks with panoramic views. It is a rich area for bird watchers with the beautiful peninsula of Arne within a short drive. This RSPB reserve overlooks Poole Harbour and is populated with deer, a plethora of wading birds, geese and ducks.

Plum Tree Cottage is a traditional stone cottage and has been completely renovated to provide attractive accommodation for four people in two bedrooms. It is centrally heated and has been furnished and equipped with care. There is a pleasant dining area beside French doors which open into the garden.

Stairs lead up from the sitting room to two pretty bedrooms. There is a spacious double room with a king-size bed and a second bedroom with a bunk bed. This latter bedroom has French doors opening onto a balcony adorned with a vine and here, visitors can sit and enjoy a wonderful view of the hills and the beautiful castle of Corfe. On this upper floor there is also a bathroom with a bath, shower cubicle, basin and WC. Heating and electricity are provided without extra charge. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. Unlimited Wi-Fi internet access can also be made available.

Private parking space is available for two cars within one minutes walk and visitors can park directly outside the cottage from October to May. Parking outside of the cottage to unload is also possible in the summer. A regular bus service to Swanage and Poole is within five minutes walk and the steam railway runs a regular service from Corfe Castle to Harmans Cross and Swanage. In the village square there is a bakers, a post office, general stores, National Trust shop and public houses. There are also tea shops and restaurants; all within a few minutes walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Corfe Castle. The Dorset Coast is terrific, Corfe Castle is the perfect holiday destination, and the cottage was idyllic. Having stayed before, we were not disappointed. The Cottage provided the perfect base to explore the Dorset countryside. It was clean and comfortable, homely and hospitable. Perfect for our nRead moreeeds (3 Adults). I would recommend Plum Tree Cottage to anyone, looking for a quiet holiday in Dorset. It is prefectly placed both for the Dorset Coast and Countryside. Beautiful cottage, very clean, very modern, had all the mod cons. A good garden, a separate shower cubicle away from the bath. It was a warm cottage with modern heating. Broadband worked in every room, TV had free view channels along with the ability to watch YouTube & Amazon Prime if you have that already subscribed. It was our 3rd stay in 12 moRead morenths on West Street, so we know all about Corfe Castle & we rebooked after just 2 days in this cottage to return back in 6 months. My only issue is, the ability (or not in our case) to park near the cottage to unload the car on arrival. Between Oct - May, parking is allowed so there were no spaces outside the cottage. This wouldnt have been a problem after May because I could park outside to unload due to having my Disability Badge. The dedicated parking space was easy to walk to (around the corner in front of the garage). Aside from the unloading of the car, the cottage was just what we wanted. Do I think its worth paying over 1400 for a week in summer, no. But I do think its value for money outside of summer and not surprising it was booked up for September through to the middle of October which is when we rebooked for. Hide

As dog owners, the cottage is ideal. We were lucky the weather was good as there would have been a lot of mess trodden in from the garden if it was wet. We always use bath sheets at home and away to catch the worst from being trodden in. Everywhere you stay will be different and everyone will have their own opinions on what they like or don't.
