This lovely 17th century stone cottage is situated in the centre of the picturesque village of Corfe Castle amongst the beautiful countryside of the Isle of Purbeck. Penny Cottage is a lovely traditional Dorset cottage with a thatched roof, Purbeck stone walls, many beams and a wonderful inglenook fireplace.

The Isle of Purbeck is known for being an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the gateway to the Jurassic Coast. Located in southern Dorset it enjoys a mild climate and many take advantage of the good weather to enjoy a range of leisure activities such as walking, mountain biking, climbing, sailing, fishing and sunbathing on one of the many beaches and sheltered bays.

The huge range of Dorset attractions bring visitors to Dorset year after year. Historic buildings such as Corfe Castle, Hardy's Cottages and monument, Maiden Castle as well as numerous manor houses and country estates now open to the public. Dorset also enjoys a rich variety of wildlife and bird watchers flock to bird watching sites at Arne and along the coastal path.

For those who enjoy the sea there are numerous sailing courses and fishing trips organised throughout the year and a healthy supply of fresh fish is cooked up in the many seaside restaurants.

Inland Isle of Purbeck, and Dorset as a whole, has also comes with a range of diversions including numerous golf courses and sporting activities. Those wishing to play golf can enjoy golf courses with sea views and teeming with nature.

Self Catering Holiday Cottages in Dorset

Island Cottage Holidays has been operating from Dorset for more than 15 years but has only recently started accepting cottages in Dorset and Purbeck. Island Cottage Holidays was started with one cottage on the Isle of Wight and now has grown to having more than 80 cottages.

From the start of 2009 we launched Island Cottage Holidays - Isle of Purbeck. This was in a response to a high level of demand for holiday in Dorset and to offer a wider range of options to our visitors.
