Langton Matravers still retains its village shop/post office and public house with meals, local beers and ciders within 5 minutes walk.

There are wonderful rural views from the cottage and the large garden and terrace overlook the picturesque village of Corfe Castle which nestles below in the valley. These panoramic views extend across the valley to the downs. There is a good public house for meals within a few minutes walk and almost immediate access to some of the most wonderful walks in Purbeck. Great for both walking and cycling. The sandy beaches of Swanage are within a 10 minute drive. Bird watching is excellent at the RSPB site at Arne. Golf courses in nearby Studland and Wareham.

The farmland of the manor house extends to over 600 acres and visitors can walk across the nearby fields and follow footpaths to some of the loveliest villages of the Isle of Purbeck.

The sandy beach of the small coastal resort of Swanage is only 3 or 4 minutes drive away. Langton Matravers has a village shop, public house, small museum and lovely church.

This delightful stone cottage with the green front door is beautifully situated overlooking the large scenic mill pond in the pretty, old part of Swanage. The pond is home to ducks and moorhens and is beside the charming church of St Mary’s. This is a lovely peaceful setting with no passing traffic. The cottage is within a pleasant 5 minute stroll of the beautiful sandy beach of the small seaside resort.
This lovely Grade II listed stone cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Corfe Castle – a village nestled amongst the Purbeck Hills and renowned for its castle ruins, thatched cottages, teashops and public houses. Honeypot Cottage is within a 5 minute stroll of the village square. This is a wonderful walking area and visitors can walk directly from the cottage across the common to join footpaths to the nearby downs and to the coastal path - 2 miles away. This beautiful area of coastline, extending from Swanage to Weymouth, is part of the Jurassic Coast – England first natural World Heritage Site The four miles of sandy beach at Studland are within a 15 minute drive and the small seaside resort of Swanage is within a 10 minute drive. Here swimming, paddling, fishing, boating and diving can be enjoyed. Swanage and Corfe Castle are linked by a delightful steam railway which offers a real step back in time.
Honeypot Cottage is one of a terrace of stone cottages dating back to 1780. It has recently been skilfully renovated to retain the original features of wooden beams, flagstone floors, and attractive windows and doors. It has been furnished and equipped with great care to provide charming accommodation for 4 people in 2 bedrooms which is centrally heated and has secondary glazing at the front of the property. On the ground floor there is a delightful sitting room with two comfortable sofas, an open fire, flat screen television/DVD/Freeview, a pretty dining room with a circular table and chairs; a small fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. A washing machine and freezer are also provided. There is also a ground floor WC with basin. Stairs lead up to a beautiful double bedroom and a family bathroom which is newly equipped with bath, walk in shower, basin and WC. A charming doorway opens from the landing to fairly steep stairs which lead up to a delightful spacious attic twin bedroom which extends across the length of the cottage and has attractive downland views in the distance. This room has a small en-suite shower room, with restricted head room, equipped with a walk in shower, basin and WC. A travel cot and high chair can be made available. Central heating and electricity without extra charge. A telephone and WiFi internet access available
The cottage has a small enclosed garden at the rear of the cottage with a lovely sun room with garden furniture. It is paved and has a gravel area which accommodates the garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. A garden gate offers direct access via a small pathway on to the delightful Corfe Castle Common. Here children can play games and this provides an attractive rural route to walk to the village centre. There is a small adventure play area for children within a 5 minute walk. The cottage is situated on the main road which links Wareham and Swanage. Unallocated Off road parking is available for one car in front of the cottage. Regular bus service within a few minutes walk.
Honeypot Cottage is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Honeypot Cottage. Honeypot Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 30th October 2017 to 14th December 2017, 6th January 2018 to 8th February 2018, 17th February 2018 to 22nd March 2018 and 27th October 2018 to 20th December 2018.

Corfe Castle is a historic town at the heart of Purbeck. This pretty Dorset village is best know for the ruins of the 11th Century castle of Corfe Castle which sits above the village of the same name. The village has a good range of shops, cafes and restaurants and the surrounding countryside is well served with footpaths and cycle tracks.

Swanage Steam Railway - Corfe Castle is connected with the seaside town of Swanage by the Swanage Steam Railway. The railway is now a popular attraction in its own right but can also be used as an effient means of transport between Corfe Castle and Swanagee and can be incorporated in to a cicular walk along the Purbeck hills. www.swanagerailway.co.uk
Walk to Swanage - There is a lovely hill top pathway running from Corfe Castle to Swanage. The walk starts on Sandy Hill Ln (under the railway bridge) where you follow signposts to up the hill to a view of Corfe Castle. Simply follow the ridge all the way to Ulwell from where you can follow the pavement into Swanage. The return journey can be done on the Steam Railway or walk back to enjoy the views in the other direction.

The Isle of Purbeck is a peninsular of land located in the South of Dorset and is famous for its sandy beaches, beautiful countryside and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site. The sea surrounds Purbeck on three sides and nowhere is for from the coast. Apart from the small town of Swanage, the Isle of Purbeck is made up of small rural hamlets and traditional villages.
The North side of Purbeck is dominated by a wooded and heathland nature reserve and where it meets the water of Poole Harbour it attracts a great deal of bird life. The East coast of Purbeck is known for the two long sandy beaches at Studland and Swanage but also for the limestone pillars at Old Harry's Rocks. Along the South Coast is the start of the Jurassic Coast which is characterised by impressive coastal formations like Dancing Ledge and Durdle Door but also for quiet coves and peaceful beaches for swimming.
Much of Purbeck has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the vast majority of Purbeck remains in the hands of nature. This is ideal for walkers and cyclists who are free to explore large areas of countryside and take in a number of wondrous locations.

One small to medium sized dog welcome. Visitors are asked to keep dogs downstairs and off of the furniture. We also ask owners not to allow them to foul the garden. The garden is fenced and hedged but cannot be guaranteed as being completely dog proof, and there is a garden gate to a path which leads directly to Corfe Castle Common which is behind the cottage. A dog can be left in the kitchen/utility area if it is not likely to be noisy or destructive. Please ensure that flea treatments are up to date. Special agreement would be needed for a puppy under 12 months or a dog with incontinence problems.

Honeypot Cottage is a terraced stone cottage in picturesque Corfe Castle sleeping 4 in 2 bedrooms. It was built around 1780, and has original flagstone floors. The front door opens directly into the lounge, with the dining room, kitchen and utility with separate WC beyond. There is a double bedroom and bathroom on the first floor and a twin room with a small en-suite on the second floor.
The cottage is within 5 minutes’ walk to the village centre, a fairly flat walk then down a very gently sloping hill, with 3 pubs, the Castle, and a variety of local shops. It is situated on a bus route.
Corfe Castle towards Poole is on the same side as the cottage and is 5 minutes’ walk towards the centre. All buses can accommodate one wheelchair. Buses from Wareham take approximately 15 mins. The No.40 bus runs to/from the bus station in Poole, every 60 mins Monday – Saturday and every 2 hours on Sundays.
