There are wonderful rural views from the cottage and the large garden and terrace overlook the picturesque village of Corfe Castle which nestles below in the valley. These panoramic views extend across the valley to the downs. There is a good public house for meals within a few minutes walk and almost immediate access to some of the most wonderful walks in Purbeck. Great for both walking and cycling. The sandy beaches of Swanage are within a 10 minute drive. Bird watching is excellent at the RSPB site at Arne. Golf courses in nearby Studland and Wareham.

Bucklebury is a charming traditional stone cottage situated in the small village of Langton Matravers, surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. The property is set in the heart of a spectacular walking and cycling area, with the World Heritage Site of the Jurassic Coast just a twenty minute walk away, via the numerous footpaths and bridleways leading from close to the cottage. The picturesque village of Corfe Castle with its thatched cottages, tea shops and famous castle is within a ten minute drive. The seaside resort and sandy beach of Swanage is just five minutes drive, with the hilltop villages of Kingston and Worth Matravers even closer. Langton Matravers itself is a charming village retaining a real community atmosphere, with a parish church, public house, and village shop all within a short walk of the property.
Bucklebury Cottage stands within a small terrace of Purbeck stone cottages along a quiet unmade lane, and provides comfortable accommodation for five in three bedrooms. This pretty stone cottage has recently been lovingly refurbished to a high standard, with local art hanging from many of the property’s walls. The front door opens into a small hallway with hanging space and from here into a welcoming living room with wooden floors, attractive rugs, along with a large sofa and armchair set around a wood burning stove and a television with DVD and Freeview plus unlimited WiFi and a CD player. A dining table with seating for five is attractively situated beside a window.
Two steps lead up to the fitted kitchen, which is equipped with an integrated electric oven and gas hob, along with a microwave, fridge freezer, slimline dishwasher and washing machine. A door leads through to a utility area and access to the rear garden. The cottage’s bathroom is also on the ground floor, and has a bath with over bath shower, WC and basin.
Stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor where there is a single bedroom with a chest of drawers and hanging space. There is also an attractive double bedroom with a wardrobe and window looking over the village and Purbeck hills to the sea in the distance. From the landing, a heavy curtain sweeps back to reveal stairs ascending to the second floor and another double bedroom. This attractive attic style room has wooden beams and more open views across the village and hills to the sea with glimpses of the Isle of Wight on a clear day. Central heating and electricity are provided at no extra charge. Travel cot and high chair can be made available.
To the rear of Bucklebury Cottage there is a paved courtyard with steps leading up to a sunny walled terrace with garden furniture. A small bucket BBQ is also provided here. There is a parking space for one car provided opposite the cottage, with additional vehicles able to park on the road close by. An hourly bus service links Langton Matravers to Swanage, Corfe Castle, Wareham and Poole. Nearby places to visit include the stunning RSPB nature reserve at Arne which is home to a large number of deer and is a wonderful bird watching area with various hides; the National Trust properties of Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacey near Wimborne; the Swanage Steam Railway and golf courses at Studland and Wareham.

Bucklebury Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 17th February 2017 to 20th April 2017, 8th May 2017 to 11th May 2017 and 27th October 2017 to 17th December 2017.

Langton Matravers is a rural village with pretty stone cottages within a short walk of the sea on the Southern side of Purbeck in Dorset. This charming and traditional village has a historic church, attractive stone buildings and an excellent local public house which puts on local events including local music.
The coastline below Langton Matravers is well known for the dramatic landscape and abundance of wildlife. It is a popular spot with walkers who stop off while walking along the coastal path and some take the time to have a swim. There is a good local walk to Dancing Ledge where there is a man made swimming pool dug into the rocks.
It's for anyone who likes to live life adventurously - you don’t have to be a seasoned explorer to enjoy a Go Ape experience! Go Ape offers up to three hours of tree top fun. It’s a great way to get outdoors and have some fun. The Moors Valley GoApe Country Park is within a 40min drive of Purbeck and is a great day out for the whole family. goape.co.uk
The Isle of Purbeck is a peninsular of land located in the South of Dorset and is famous for its sandy beaches, beautiful countryside and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site. The sea surrounds Purbeck on three sides and nowhere is for from the coast. Apart from the small town of Swanage, the Isle of Purbeck is made up of small rural hamlets and traditional villages.
The North side of Purbeck is dominated by a wooded and heathland nature reserve and where it meets the water of Poole Harbour it attracts a great deal of bird life. The East coast of Purbeck is known for the two long sandy beaches at Studland and Swanage but also for the limestone pillars at Old Harry's Rocks. Along the South Coast is the start of the Jurassic Coast which is characterised by impressive coastal formations like Dancing Ledge and Durdle Door but also for quiet coves and peaceful beaches for swimming.
Much of Purbeck has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the vast majority of Purbeck remains in the hands of nature. This is ideal for walkers and cyclists who are free to explore large areas of countryside and take in a number of wondrous locations.

Two dogs are welcome and the rear courtyard style garden is fenced. Pets are not permitted upstairs, on the furniture or in the bedrooms. Dogs can be left in the kitchen if they are not likely to be noisy or destructive. We also ask owners not to leave dogs on their own in the cottage and not to allow them to foul the garden. Puppies and also dogs with incontinence problems are not permitted without specific agreement. Please ensure that your pet's treatment for the prevention of fleas is up to date.
