Quality in Tourism award Walkers Welcome designation to cottages which provide added services suitable for walkers. These include places to hang and dry walking clothes and lots of local walking information and guides.

A large number of holiday guests visiting cottages on the Isle of Wight go walking and enjoy the coastal path for inland footpaths and bridal ways to explore the Island. With the numerous attractions within walking distance it is a lovely way to see landmarks such as The Needles, Steephill Cove, St Catherines Point or Bembridge Windmill and make them part of a circular walk which includes a pub or place to have tea.

The big walking trails which crisscross the Isle of Wight pass by many of the cottages below. The Worsley Trail passes Godshill and Shanklin and is a lovely inland route following parts of the old rail network. The Stenbury Trail also passes Godshill but runs North South to Ventnor or Newport. Many choose to do small sections of these walks or simply make their own route with a map.

Ningwood is on the West of the Isle of Wight and is located close to Yarmouth, Freshwater and Shalfleet. The rural location is peaceful and surrounded by open countryside but you are within walking distance of the sea and the famous West Coast of the Isle of Wight, with beautiful bays and beaches, is only a short distance. From Ningwood there are trails and paths that lead inland towards Carisbrooke or along the hills to the most Westerly point of the Island where you can see The Needles.

Field Cottage is a rural cottage and sleeps upto 8 people in 4 bedrooms. It is a fantastic family cottage to enjoy a holiday with the extended family while having the space and freedom from the multiple living areas. Apart from a front room there is a large conservatory to enjoy the sun and a large garden with space to play games.
