A quiet cove, where visitors can paddle and swim, is within a 15 minute walk of the cottage. This pretty detached cottage is attractively situated in the beautiful gardens of Shalfleet Manor House. The Manor house is built of Island stone and dates back to the 1600's. It is close to the centre of the village and surrounded by several acres of garden. Footpaths can be followed from here that lead to the renowned Tennyson Downs and The Needles. Sylvan Seas is a lovely detached house situated in a very pleasant area close to the sea on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. It is in an attractive, quiet residential area of individual properties with large gardens. There are views of the sea from the upper terrace and the front bedrooms. This part of the Island is renowned for its mild climate and a beautiful botanical garden with many rare plants is nearby. From the house visitors can take a 10 minute stroll to two small coves and can join the coastal path for a delightful walk through to Ventnor. The Easter holidays are a lovely time to visit the Isle of Wight and explore the country side, visit the historic buildings and it isn't too early to visit the beach and play ball games on the beach.
Cycling, walking, horse riding and visiting the beach are all popular Easter holiday activities and the Isle of Wight has facilities and attractions to help you get the most out of this school holiday. The amusement parks at Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill welcomes families with children of all ages to enjoy the rides and walk around the park. Their creative attractions are maybe best enjoyed at this time of year when the parks don't have too many visitors. The Isle of Wight Steam Railway also offer events and an interesting day out with the children.
Eating out and visiting the numerous quality restaurants on the Isle of Wight is a holiday activity in its self. There are numerous Michelin Guide restaurants on the Island and gastro tourism is becoming a popular reason to tour the Isle of Wight.
