To See and Do in Godshill

Godshill Historic Centre and Village Church - One of the Isle of Wight's most iconic locations is in Godshill and is found by the village church. Here there is a wonderful gathering of traditional thatched cottages cosying up around the village church. It is well worth a photograph for the album.

Godshill's Boutique Shops - Godshill has a number of wonderful boutique shops selling a range of local food and drink as well as gifts made on the Isle of Wight. Isle of Wight Glass has a shop in Godshill where they show their decorative glass work. The new Chocolate Island is also an excellent place to stop and admire an excellent range of hand crafted chocolate and have a coffee in their sunny courtyard.

Godshill to Wroxall Walk - The pleasant rural walk from Godshill to Wroxall passes through the Freemantle Gate and then down into Wroxall. You can extend this walk all the way down to the coast at Steephill Cove and Ventnor by climbing up onto the Down and following the hill top path to the coast.

Godshill Cycling - To join the cycle network simply ride out of Godshill on the road to Shanklin but after 150meters turn left onto the marked cycle route. You will pass through a farm and through an 's' shaped bend before reaching an old railway bridge. The railway has now gone and has been replaced with a cycle track which goes East to Shanklin and West to Newport. - for more cycle routes visit our Isle of Wight cycling pages.
